Hensall Skate-a-thon
Skating for playground equipment. Nearly 100 Hensall children participated in the Hensall Skate-a-thon last Wednesday
morning to raise money for the playground equipment at Hensall Public School. Ron McTaggart expected the skate would
raise $1,300. He said about three-quarters of the funds have been raised and the equipment is scheduled to be installed
this spring.

KIPPEN - Kippen East WI mem-
bers all wearing green of some
shade met at the home of Dorothy
Bell on St, Patrick's Day.
Grace Drummond welcomed eve-
ryone and opened the meeting with
an "Old Irish Verse."
The Ode was sung and the Mary
Stewart Collect repeated.
Ten members answered the Roll
Call with their favorite Irish Song.
Articles in abundance were do-
nated for the Children's Hospital
and dishcloths were received.
The minutes of the last meeting
were read. The Kippen WI will he
supplying the beverage for the Dis-
trict Board Meeting on April 7. The
collection was taken. -
Ruby Triehner and Grace Drum-
mond each had a joke.
Everyone participated in the Mot-
to "Stress is like an ice cream cone,
you have to learn to lick it".
The hes( sulutioli is to practice
the 4 F's. Have fun - Strike up a
friendship -'Get fresh air - Have
faith.

The Huron Country Playhouse is
holding auditions this weekend.
Children's auditions will be taking
place at the Playhouse, girls (ages
12 to 15 will he from I Oa.m. to 2
p.m. and boys of the same age
group will be from 3 p.m. to 6p.m.
Auditions arc for the the opening
of Byc Bye Birdic which will run
June 16 to July 4.

tion of Canada has a solution for
people with old vehicles. • '
The Kidney Car Program is.anin-
itiative which invites people from
across Ontario to donate their mo-
tor vehicles, running or not, to the
Foundation. The donor will have
their vehicle towed free of charge
and will receive an income tax re-
ceipt of at least $75.
The vehicles are sold for parts or,
if worthwhile, sold through a bid-
ding process.
The program accepts cars, trucks
and motorhomes in any condition.
The Ontario Automotive Recyclers
Association will pick up the vehicle
after information has been pro-

ceased,
Vehicles are disposed in ac-
cordance with the strict standards
established by the Ministry of the
Environment. This ensures the safe
disposal! of toxic fluids, oil, tires
'eta. as well as the recycling of mo-
tor vehicles and their parts.
To donate a vehicle, call the Kid-
ney Car Hotline at 1-800-565-5511.
You will be asked to provide the
make, model, vehick identification
number and a general description
of the vehicle. It will be picked up
within two to four weeks.
Donations are used to fund organ
donor awareness, research, public
education and patient services.
