The Exeter Jr. D Hawks hockey

winning their sixth and deciding

Classiques golden at Sun Country,
Noakes off to provincial champs
CHATHAM — The Exeter Classiques
adult precision skating team shined
brighter than the five other teams at the
Sun Country competition in Chatham on
'Sunday.
The gold medal performance is the
second of the year for the Classiques —
they won the Niagara competition on
Jan. 24. Team members are: Shonyn
Baynham, Melissa Brock, Sarah Darling,
, Kerry Deitz, Marianne Eagleson, Came
Iliman, Karie Jennison, Lisa Memer, Mi-
chelle Moore -Watson, Carrie Parsons,
Missy Phaff, Cheryl Pryce, Teresa Radke,
Cathy Roestenberg, Wendi Sims Bar-
bara Tieman, Julia Tieman, Melissa Tim-
mermans, Kelly Warren and Carisa Wil-
lis.
The Mini -Classics juvenile team fin-
ished fourth out of 26 teams at Sun
Country after finishing sixth after the first
skate. Team members: Amanda Allen,
Maria Dinney, Natasha Duckworth, Jus-
tine Fusick, Jodi Gaiser, Anne Gregus,
Usa Hakvoort, Joanna Hem, Jasmine
Kerslake, Danae Krohn, Brittany Mills,
Sarah Overholt, Ashley Ralph, , Tiffany
Sedlak and Lauren Smith.
Both teams will compete in the West -
em Ontario Section (WOS) competition
in St. Marys on March 21.
In other figure skating news, Exeter Fig-
ure Skating Club's Laura Noakes along
with partner Shaun Brooker of Seaforth
Figure Skating Club won silver medals at
the recent Stratford Interclub (North Dis-
trict) competition.
The performance qualified the pair for
the WOS Interclub Championship at
Walpole Island last Saturday where they
took first in juvenile competitive pairs.
Noakes and Brooker will next travel- to
Gravenhurst this weekend for the On-
tario Interclub Championships. The pair
are coached by Brucefield's John Bau-
man.
Stephen's tops twice
