OPP deserve more credit
I firmly believe that the OPP are
some of the best police officers
in the country...
l')ear LdlttIl
f am writing this letter to response to it lcttci pub-
lished a few weeks ago As a craven of Exeter Iter
the past ten years I. can say honestl. 1. believe the
OPP are doing the hest lob possible within(' person-
nel they have There are only approximately15 offi•
cern stationed al Exeter When you break this down
10 shifts. officers off ill oi on. days off the numbers
arc more like 5.7 officers.
Now the othe problem is since the OPP brass in-
troduccd the white cruisers they blend in much
more than the old black and whites. which com-
manded respect. 1 have had to deal wilt the OPP
Iron]. both "A" Accused person and a regular citi-
zen.
1 firmly believe that the OPP arc sonic or the hest
police officers in -the country. Other changes made
to OPP uniforms and hats have given them an
Americanized look. These changes sometimes make
nit: peel the OPP don't wear their uniforms with the
same sense of pride as they once did Perhaps the
OPP brass should go hack to their old uniforms and
hats as well as the black and white cars that. would
increase their visibility •
