program begins Saturday
EXETER - Dan Byelis of Em-
manuel , Television Ministries
hopes a series of programs on cable
stations in Huron, Perth, Lambton
and Middlesex counties will help
build the community..
The first program, scheduled to
be broadcast on Saturday at 7 p.m.
and Sunday at 2 p.m. is _entitled
"Unity in the Community". The
program will be pre-recorded. Eix-
ebner will also appear.
Byelis said as a Christian or-
ganization. E1M. has a different per-
spective' from. regular TV pro-
gramming. Although ETM is non-
denominational. arca churches are
supporting this endeavor.
"We're trying to portray and be a
loving community." he said. adding
ETM wants to: turn words into ac-
tions.

The Playhouse is:auditioning for
its two musicals. Bye Bye Birdie
and Forty -Second Street. These au-
ditions will be taking place on
. March 29th for ages 12-15. Please

for the girls will be from 10 a.m.-2
• p.m. and boys from 3-6 p.m.
- Auditions for adult males and fe-
males (16 and over) will be held on
March 29th. Adults are asked to
send in a photo and resume and
they will be contacted for an audi-
tion time.
An accompanist will be provided
for all the auditions, so we ask that
no cassette accompaniment be used
or a cappella singing. -Material will
be provided to people auditioning
and we asked that comfortable
clothing be worn. '

Area students head
to France in March
HURON. COUNTY - While most
students will be heading south or to
the ski hills during the March
break. 37 Grade 7 and 8 students
from Huron County will be flying
to France. .
'Through the Canadian Education
Exchange Foundation program. -the
students will leave. March 11 and
return March 24.
Exeter Public School teacher Pat-
ti Brintnell is accompanying the
students and said over 100 students
applied for the program but only 37
were chosen.- •

She. said the goal of the program
is to "explore another culture and
their school. system."
The students will he immersed m
the culture during their visit. They
will he individually billeted with
families and will attend school
classes for part of the visit.
Brintnell explained the trip will
help the students appreciate Cana-
da's historical ties including seeing
where explorers set sail for the nes(
world.
Twenty-nine French students will
visit Huron County in April as the
second part of the exchange pro-
gram. They will be billeted with
families throughout the county and
will *have a chance to (earn about
the area and the prbvince. -
