Capsule Comments
with Ernie Miatello
If you are using more than 'one eye drop to treat
a .glaucoma condition, , it is very important to
separate them _by 10;15 minutes. •If you instill
them too close together, one drop will wash, the
other drop out of the.eye and you won't get the
full effect of the therapy. .
Some eye drops require you to shake the container prior to use.
This is because the medication is suspended in,a liquid and set-
tles td.the bottom on standing.- It must be shaken before each
use so each -drop will contain the right dose of. drug. We will tell
you when this is important...
•
Some _people have 'trouble knowing if they :got, the drop into the
eye or not. If you have that problem, try keeping the eye drop in
the refrigerator.. When, the: drops are cold,it is easier to .tell if
they have gotten into the eye_ rather than have them roll down
your cheek as often happens. ,•
After installation of the drop, press your finger on the inside cor-
ner of the eye near the nose for one to two minutes. This will
keep the medication in the eye longer resulting in more effective
lowering of the pressure in the eye.
