the Exeter store and converted it
into another Smyth's Shoe Store.
His son George worked at the Ex-
eter store for about six years. He
said a fest things have changed in
the store oyer the years including
throwing out the wallpaper sold in
the previous shoe store to complete -

Parents plan followup meeting
CLINTON - Parents •who were
active- in -the Bill 160 protest last
• fall arc planning a meeting to learn
of further developments and dis-
cuss future actions. Teachers, stu-
dents and anyone concerned about
the future of education have been
invited to come to the Clinton High
School this Thursday evening.
There will be an update on the re-
peal Bill 160 petition. There will be
a discussion on ways that parents.
teachers and students can work to-
gether to preserve the quality of ed-
ucation in our communities. Con-
sideration will he given to future
action, and activities the members
wish to pursue.
One of thc unheralded events has
been the returning to the schools
the $400 for which parents of chil-
dren 13 and younger where eligi-
ble.Parents felt this money .was
,meant for their children's educa:
lion. Given the'aniourit the Provin-
cial Government was taking out

their Childs school. If they can
gather thc information. organizers
hope to present a "cheque" to the
school hoard for the total that was
donated hack to the schools.
"The meeting has been scheduled
for Thursday. February 5 from 7:30
to 9:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Cen-
tral Huron Secondary School in
Clinton.

St. Marys District Collegiate in-
