Lucan Lions Club president Clarence Haskett, left, and Lucan Community Non -Profit Housing Corp. president Glen Nevin, right, accept a $79,570,cheque from Mid dlex MPP Bruce Smith at a recent meeting. Nevin said the cash will be invested so the inter- est hopefully offsets future costs of replacing stoves, fridges and carpets at the 35 -unit Li- ons Parkview Place on Beech St. "Unfortunately those things tend to go all at the same time," Nevin said, adding the money is a reserve the NDP government "took away" in '92 which the current•Tory government is restoring. The money is part of the province's $172.5 million grant program for capital improvements at non-profit and co-operative• housing pro- jects.
