January 13, 1923 = This sec- tion has experienced several snow storms during the past week. Most automobiles have ,been practically tied up. The ,young Ladies' Bible, Class of the James Street Sun- day School held their annual banquet and social evening in the basement of the church with teachers and officials of the school as invited guests. Over 100 sat down to a very appetizing ' menu of oysters, cake and ice cream. President Martha Risi chaired the meeting • while. - Mary -Lou - Denomme read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the roll call. • Mary Ducharme gave the trea- surer's report. The quitt lop was displayed by Mary (Calvin). Gingerich and Grace Martin (which is now set up at the .Horne ready for quilting). - - The new program sheets for 1998 and schedules were handed out. The women were asked to help in the' kitchen on January 15, 20, and 21.- The Dashwood Women's Institute will entertain at the birth- - day party. . Members are reminded to bring • aprons for the tuck shop to sell. If you can help out in the Tuck Shop one afternoon a week, phone ' Laurene Corrivcau at 236-4954. - A Fair Board meeting is planned for January 1.5 at 8 p.m. at the Hay Township Hall. Personals The family of Marie Gclinas Sr. helped her celebrate her 80th birth - ..day with a surprise party at St. Boniface Parish Hall on January 10. Relatives and friends came from Detroit, Michigan, London,. Oakville, Dorchester, Bayfield, Clinton, Ottawa, Centralia and the Zurich area. They visited, watched family videos, enjoyed -a supper prepared by Jerry Rader, had mass at 7.p.in. followed by a .musical" program and skits. .
