Pre -season action. Alicia Laye of the Exeter I. women's
team kicked the ball into play in her team's first game of
the afternoon against Lucan in the annual men's and wom-
en's preseason indoor soccer tournament at Centralia Rec-
reation Centre on Saturday. Lucan won 2-0. In men's ac-
tion, Stratford's FAG juniors beat Kirkton's Pork and Beef 4-
1 in the final. There was no women's final or champion. The
women's and children's regular season opened at the Cen-
tralia Rec Centre on Monday while the men see their first

Lords of the ring
Sword play. Clandeboye's Laura Rollings, 12, tries to
snatch a ring during the 'sword race' at the London Pony
Club's Christmaskhana '98 Prince Philip Games at Clande-
boye's Hearthstone Farms on Friday. Rollings - is riding Lady

flag race and stepping stone race. -
Exeter int. ringette team
brings home silver medals
STRATFORD - The Exeter Intermediate 'C' girls rin-
gette team did their hometown proud by winning
the silver medal at the Stratford tournament last
week.
Exeter won their first game versus the Sarnia Star -
fires 3-2 on goals by Missy Hayter (2) and Kim Kel-
ler. Helpers went to Hayter, Laura Skinner and
Shawna Rowe.
Exeter won their second game 3-1 over the Strat-
ford Aces with Hayter, Rowe and Becky 'Bruiser'
Case scoring. Assists were earned by Keller, Ann
Marie Parsons and Rowe.
The girls winning ways were nixed in overtime dur-
ing the gold medal final versus the Starfires with Ex-
eter losing 4-3. Down 3-0 early in the third, Hayter
led her team all the way back to a 3-3 tie by scor-
ing; the natural hat -trick with the final goal coming
with' 'only 16 seconds left in regulation time. As-
sisting on Hayter's ggoals were Lauryn Baynham, Sa-
rah Mosurinjohn, Pam Keys, Rowe, Meagan Ratz
and Parsons.
Miranda Hayter and Caryln Quinn shared the
goaltending duties for Exeter.
Other team members include Jaclyn Baynham,
Amanda Glavin, Jodi Truemner, Sarah Webber and
coaches Jeff Keller, Bryan Quinn and Bob Parsons
and trainers Monica Keys and Kathy Hayter.
