new bathroom facilities in the home. The licensed facility'provideS 24-hour care to five resi-
dents with physical and developmental challenges.

then compete at the regional event

Last year- Lucan was well repre-
sented as five players advanced to
the regionals. where Logan Couture
advanccd -on to the Ontario .finals
and then again on to the Canadian
finals where he won the Goldin the
Pre Rookie division.
The competition will be held on.
June 29. 1997 at the Lucan' Com-
• munity Centre beginning at I i a.m.

County Road
83 to be
resurfaced!
GODERICH - The years of dodg-
ing potholes on County Road 83
(formerly Highway 83) will soon
be over!
According to Huron County engi-
neer Sandra Lawson, the road from
Exeter to Highway 21 will be re -
paved in 1998.
At the same time, three bridges
(two crossing the Ausable River
and one crossing Black Creek) will •
be rebuilt. Lawson estimates the
project will take from April to Sep-
tember.

GRAND BEND - Sunday, June 15 was Graduation
Day at imniaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Parish for all
• the young participants M. the parish Sunday School.
Each child received a special patch or scroll for atten-
dance. presented by Father Paul Beck. He thanked
Bonnie Vandenherk and all her helpers for providing
such an interesting and enjoyable opportunity torr these
children:
Delaney Maria Coates. infant daughter. of Bradley
Coates and Cindy Vandenherk, was recently. baptized

Tickets are on sale to a,parish pork barbecue, held
on the grounds of the Alhambra Hall on -August '10 at
5 p.m. Call 238-8222 or 243-2989 for tickets.
On June 3. the Catholic Women's League Council
of Immaculate Heart cif wlarY parish hosted a parish
potluck supper for all the seniors. -About 100 seniors
and C.W.L. members attended the event. with a special
guest of Father Paul Beck, Bishop John Sherlock of the
London diocese. There was an abundance of food to he
enjoyed by everyone•, including the North Lambton
Secondary. School Jazz Band. who provided • some
great music. Music instrue;tor Dave Williams conduct-
ed this talented group of young musicians.
After the dinner and entertainment, about 30-C.W.L.
members attended a• business meeting; chaired by vice-
president Nancy Stokkermans. Organization .(invencr
Margrit Breuer reported 91 paid ur member; for this
year so far, including t w C.W:L. members.
A thank you was r/ L. . from Save -A -Family Plan
of India for the annual 1,150 sponsorship. Plans were
finalized for the pork barbecue parish picnic,'to be held
on August .10 at the Alhambra Hall. Tickets prices.
were set, and several 'members are selling tickets. Call
296-5521 for more information. .
There were nine young people confirmed on Pente-
cost Sunday. Father Beck:thanked the choir apd young
musicians wh.t:contrihuted to the beautiful liturgy, the
C.W.L. women who served a party afterward, and the
council who presented gifts to the confirmants.
' Quilt tickets. for the • annual raffle have near)), all
been distributed. The 'summer. bake sales were sched-
uled Tor July 12 and 13, after Masses. and for August
23 And 24. The three raffle tickets will be drawn after
the I I a.m. Mass -on -August 24.
Father Beck.was pleased -to announce that two worn
en would he received into the Church during the next
Easter Vigil, and one fa.nily was so impressed by this
year's liturgy that their grandmother will be faking the
RCIA study for a. ceremony of initiation .in October.
Father -asked for prayers for Tommy Groot, young son
of John and Ellie Groot, of Zurich who is veryill. 1
A donation of $100 plu` a collection of $160 -during
the potluck supper, will be given to the Forest Jazz
band. The next meeting will he July ti.' • •
