The South Huron Recreation Centre's babysitting course graduated 22 children over 12
during a six-week certified course that included CPR and safety training as well as general

ZURICH - A chicken barbecue
.supper was held at Ken Gascho's
Park, RR 3 Zurich for the Youth for
Christ Group with• special speaker
Kevin Stewart on June 13.
Members of the E.L.W. from the
Lutheran Church enjoyed a get-
together and lunch at Millington's
Restaurant in Bayfield on June 1,0
followed by a tour of the Blue Wa-
ter Recycling Plant at Huron Park.
A potluck supper was enjoyed by
members of the United Church in
Zurich and their guests on June 12
at the Maple Woods Apartments.
Si.. Boniface C.W.L. had their last
meeting for the summer on June 17
in the parish- hall--following_Mass
for vocations.

tion held at the -K. of C. Hall in

HENSALL - The newly opened
"Hensall Pizza & Subs" is getting
into the community spirit on June
29. This day owner Al Hulbert -will
donate 15 per cent of all pizza sales
to the Hensall Summer Playground
program. These monies will be
used for program supplies.
The Hensall Parks Board recently
dispersed monies on behalf of the
Hay Days '96`Committee, to minor
sports groups in Hensall. Each of
the following received funds: Hen=
sall Minor Ball, Hensall 'Minor
Hockey, Hensall Gymnastics, Hen-
sall Rollerblade Hockey, Exeter
and District Ringette, and Hensall
Youth Soccer. These donations rep-
resent the dissolution of the Hay
Days' funds.
The registrations are rolling in for
the Hensall Playground Program. It
offers quality recreation program-
ming to school -aged children (ages
four to 12). Registration can be
done anytime at thc Hensall Munic-
ipal Office. The program will begin
July 14. The first two weeks will
have playground from. 1 to 3 p.m.
The final four weeks of the pro-
gram will be run from 9 a.m.. to 3
p.m. The program finishes August
22. The program includes sports,
games, crafts, song. day trips and
lots more, to keep the children busy
and active through the summer.

At Hensall. United Church .on
Sunday. Rev. Robert Peebles
opened the service with a welcome
and announcements. This was
Graduation Day for the Junior con-
gregation. Evelyn. Elder gave the
Call to Worship.
' Following prayers, Laura Elder
ar I Sarah Stoll read "Footprints in
the Sand." The scripture reading
was followed by a presentation
"Faith is Like the Wind" by Evelyn
Elder.
The Junior congregation made a
presentation of appreciation to their
leaders. Rev. Peebles closed the
service. The ushers for the day
were Raye Jacobe and Ross Kerch-
er.
July 6 will be Food Bank Sun-
day. If you're in need of pastoral

The Hensall- Library is having a
Summer Reading Program for chil=
dren aged six to 11. This year's
reading program is called "Camp
Read -A -Lot" and runs for eight
weeks from July 3 until August 21.
The cost is $5 per child and in-
cludes eight weeks of reading and
fun plus a kick-off on July.3 at 11
a.m. with dynamic storyteller and
author Rob Neeves. There will be
stories and games, crafts and fun
songs. Each week will have a fun
theme such as "Goosebumps",
"Ghost Stories", "Scary Stories",
"Bug Safari", "Scary Monsters",
and "Digging Up Dinosaurs." The:
excitement begins every Thursday
night at • the Hensall Library at 7
p.m. Each .session lasts one ,hour.

thy and Doug Mann, Cass and Ade

of the tour is $4. Advance tickets
