A dedication ceremony and gathering was held Saturday afternoon. The home is now in its 110th year as a family- owned amilyowned business and Bill Dinney is the fourth generation owner. Dinney Funeral Home renovations commemorated EXETER - Many people gath- ered Sau-(ta> afternoon at Dinney Funeral Home to commemorate the completion of renovations that continue 11(1 gars of service. Exeter's oldest funeral home • is now under the direction of its Jonah generation owner, Bill Din- ney. The Dome was established in 1887 by Dinncy's great- grandfather, R.N. Rowe and his fa- iher Robert, who operated the home for 31 years before selling • to his son last year. "1 have planned for this day for many years and now it has become reality," said Bill of his 1994 vi- sion for renovating the home. "Now I can spend the rest of my life helping to make it easier .for families in times of grief. By help- ing these people l will he Willing my goals in life." Helping to officially open the new facility were several guests in- cluding Exeter Mayor Ben Hoo- genboom, Rev. Cordell Parsons of Exeter United Church, who per- formed the dedication ceremony, Rev. Father Jan Burcyzk of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church and Robert Dinney, who informed the group of the home's history. "I was overwhelmed by the com- ments of Rev. Parsons, Father Bur- cyzk and Mayor Ben Hoo- genboom, who said how the new funeral home renovation not only beautified the town but is an asset to the community," said Bill. A ribbon cutting ceremony in the front foyer followed the dedication. celebrations Many visitors, as well as members of the congregation, turned out for the opening celebra- tions of the Exeter Christian Reformed Church held Saturday.
