Bluewater residents go on safari
ZURICH - The _residents of Blue Water Rest Home
enjoyed many visits from family. -and friends on the
Victoria Day weekend.
On Sunday: Mabel Kyle, Philippa Stecklc, Clarence
Gascho, Roy Gingerich, Clara Hamilton, Beatrice
Rader and Marie Gingerich attended Sunday services
at Zurich Mennonite Church. In the afternoon the resi-'
dents enjoyed afternoon tea in the west wing lounge.
Victoria Day the residents gathered in the
area to listen rt records and tapes and played pokeno
and ate fresh popcorn.
. Tuesday morning the Grade 5 Buddies from St. Bon-
iface School entertained the residents with singing+ and
made posters:of hands tu_place on the resident > ;li ors
with the resident and huddy name.
Wednesday was T-shirt day and staff and residei ..,
donned. their favorite t -shirt with various words til- wis- •
•doom inscribed, some comical, some sport -minded,
some with name logos and others with flowers. etc In
the afternoon the residents watched "Zebra Patterns in
the.Grass," a National Geographic video. - - • •

Thursday. Rev. Tracey- Whitson-Bahro'assisted Rev.
Daniel Roushorne. Gavcn/CarmelPresbyterian Church
by conducting chapel service in his absence, Beatrice
Rader a Blue Water apartment tenant; played the or-
gan. Fr. • Matthias-.Wronski, St. Boniface. Church. Zu-
rich celebrated Mass: Rev. Gani Lazaro, Dashwood,'

Zurich United Church led Bible Study on Tuesday af-
ternoon. -
Thursday evening Max Ducharme and "The Town -
liners" warmed the hearts of. the residents with some
old time music. •
Friday morning the residents took a "Whaling Safa-
ri" throughout the Home. The resident doors had pic-
tures of various animals and. birds. of South Africa.
which most residents were able to recognize and name
and discuss with one another. They also had their own
animal picture which they .mounted in a hallway- or
door for everyone tb see.
Saturday. Phil, 'the so of resident Geraldine Char-
rette visited the JHumc iif his peers Ray- Wachhaus.
Rob Grimmell and'boug Sly and entertained the resi-
dents. The Barber Shop Choir drew .in over 45 resi-
dents; family and friends to. listen.
• Best wishes go to Mae Fox who is a patient at South
Huron Hospital; Exeter. Welcome home to Lottie Gas-
cho who.has returned to the Home after spending time
as ,'patient in hospital in London. • .
The residents and their families look forward to thc
annual summer dinner which will • he held June 22.
Election .polling will take place in the auditorium on
June 2 from 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. for the residents,
and local citizens.

EXETER - The March .for Jesus
is a global event. i1 was started in
1994 and has spread all around the
world. This will he the second ycar
in Exeter.
Last year there was an estimated
350' people from Exeter and area
-who took part in thc March. The or-
ganizers hope to see that number
expand to 500 people this: year.
Support comes in many ways:
some people march. some come in
wheelchairs and Borne watch from
the sidewalk due to physical limita-
tions. The arca, churches likewise
support the March in many various
ways and all are welcome. •
The March is taking place May
31. starting at (:30 p.m. from Prydc
Blvd., to Huron St.. Main St.. Vic-
toria St. and then to MacNaughton
Park for a praise service.

Church service was held n Sunday
morning at' Thames Road Church
with about 200 people attending.
George Burgin gave words of
Welcome. Sandra . Lusk led in the
call to worship.
Judith Parker led in the prayer of
approach. The choir sang "Lead Mc
Lord" under the leadership of Dr.
Robert Graham with his wife_Ellen
Graham at the piano.
Joanne Rowcliffe lcd in thc
prayer.of confession and assurance
of pardon. Andrea French told the
children's story about planting a
garden and having faith.
Larry Skinner gave the announce-
ments. Ray Switzer introduced
guest speaker, Kevin Stewart of Ex-
eter. The title of his sermon was
"Find Us Faithful." The offering
was received by Calvin and Gwen
Christie and Joost Drost and Sandra
Lusk- while the •choir sang "God
Will Defend You":
Russ Barker gave the offertory
prayer and led in the Lord's Prayer.
Dan Smith gave a thank you and
Joan Skinner gave thc benediction
and grace.
Before the service, an orchestra
performed, with Marjorie Johns on
the piano; violins by Ellen Graham,
Gordon Johnson, Clifton Jaques
and Bill Rohde; and guitars by
Doug Stephen and Doris Spence.
Everyone joined in singing some
old time hymns.
Marjorie Johns played the organ
and Ellen Graham the piano during.
the congregational hymns.
Ray and Marina Jaques, Jim and
Rose Siddall and Jack 'and Evelyn
Wiles were the greeters and ushers.
The following people were in the

Heart Health. She was an informa-
tive speaker and several people
demonstrated an interest in. signing -
up for the Heart Health Program.
Friday afternoon: residents were
treated to a sneak preview of the.-

varicty- show we had planned for
Grand Cove Estates. We travelled
to Grand Cove Sunday evening and
staff. family members and volun-
teers alike sang, recited. told jokes
and danced their way through an
hour of entertainment. -
We arc looking forward to partic-
ipating in the Hensall Community
Yard Sale, so plan to visit our cor-
ner of Queen and Nelson Streets for
a bargain and excellent fond.
Staff and residents offer ' their
sympathy to the -family of Nomtan
Shell who passed away recently.
