Fresh eggs to treasures
Antique dealer Peter Porchak admires one of the items dis-
played at Varna's annual Community Yard Sale held at the
Stanley Township Complex. Eleven booths were set up sell-
ing anything from farm fresh eggs' to forgotten' treasures.
According to- one vendor, this was the yard sale's ninth
year.

ZURICH - Everyone is invited to help make plans tor the'upconiing Zu-
rich Pair'at a meeting this Thursday, May 22 at 8:15 p.ni. at the Township
Hall. r
' St. Boniface C.W.L. will meet on May 20 following•the Mass for voca-
- tions. -
St. l3oniface Youth Group will meet on May 22. The grades/5 and 6 will
go to the school gym and the grades 7 and 8 students will get together at
the Parish hall.
Hensall is holdinga Community Yard Sale on May 31 With garage sales
throughout the village.
The Hensall Legion Auxiliary are holding their annual Penny. Sale at
O'Connor's Store on Main Street in Hensall from now until June 3 from
Tuesday to -Sunday at 10 a./n. to 5 p.m.
Last Wednesday to Friday, the grade seven class ai St. Boniface School
went to Camp Sylvan. They were accompanied by teacher Donna Gregus
• and parent volunteers Ted Soudant,*Peter Welsh, and Chrissy O'Toole.
. The Ladies Auxiliary are planning a picnic supper and program fonthe
residents of the,rest home on June 2 at 2 p.m. -Singers from the Region #3
meeting are to phone Carmel Sweeney.
A progressive euchre party will be held May 26 at the Town Hall at
• 7:30.p.m. The cost is $2 at the ddor which includes door prizes and lunch.
This is sponsored by the Golden Agers.
• The St. Peter's Lutheran Church' 135 anniversary history book is now
available at the church for $10 per copy.
The E.L.W. met on May 13 in the fellowship hall. Speaker for the eve-
_ ping was Anna Rcyner of Folkstone Health Store in Exeter.

Willy and Martha Overflolt celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary
on May 18. A family dinner was enjoyed at Erb's Country Kitchen on
May 18. followed by a Mass for their intentions at 7:30 p.m., performed
by Fr. Wronski. Their grandson Chris Regier, son of Debbie and Mark,
made his first -communion. A get-together was held afterwards at the
home oil daughter Vicki and -Randy Geoffrey of Hess Woods subdivision.
Those making their First Communion this past weekend at St. Boniface
Church were Ashley Bedard, Brent Regier and Chris Regicr. Family get-
togethers were held afterwards.

tal atter a recent accident; to Jean Klopp who had surgery last week; to Ina
Neeb who had surgery recently; to Annie Fihkbeiner who is a patient in
South Huron Hospital; and to Austin Armstrong. son of Murray and Lori,
ss ho is in the hospital.
Mozart and Marie Gelinas Sr. are,celebrating their 45th anniversary on
May 24. Earl and Anne Flaxbard are celebrating their 52nd anniversary on
May 12. Sandy and Jack Stephen's 33rd anniversary is on May 16.
Happy birthday wishes go to Marc Gelinas (Dorchester) on May 18.
A retirement dinner party was held for Mike Moriarty of Bayfield on
May 14 at the Seaforth Golf Club. Several co-workers from Goderich
General Hospital attended.
Shirley Holden of St, Marys spent Sunday visiting with her friend Doro-
thy Brcakey in Zurich.
George and Maria Mathonia of RR #2 Zurich announce the arrival of
their 15th grandchild, Lauren Maria, born on May 7 -to parents Carmen
and Brendan in Toronto. .
A family get-together was held -on May l8 for Juliette Denomme who is
95 years old and a resident of Blue Water Rest Home.
Jeannette Regicr and her mother Ida Soudant went on a three-week trip
to Holland to celebrate her 85th birthday with a twin sister Maria on April
• 30. .
May 18 was Pentecost Sunday and Confirmation Day for the grade eight
students of Si Boniface School, with 20 confirmed at Mask by Fr. Wron-
ski.'
'Confirmation was held at St. Peter's Lutheran Church on Sunday, May
18 for five students who have completed their two year confirmation
course. Those confirmed were Jan Fisher, Katie Fox, Jim Mason, Scot
Musser and Sarah Walker.

Churches to aid in Manitoba flood relief

CENTRALIA - Farmers, espe-
cially in this area can share the con-
cerns of Manitoba farmers as they
anxiously wait for the land'to dry
out and spring planting. to begin.
Many people watched as. their
homes were destroyed by the rising.
flood waters, and their feelings of
security were lost along with their
homes.
During the weekends of June 7-8
and 14-15, volunteers will go to
Manitoba to assist with flood clean-
up. Centralia United Church and
Zion West United Church have
sign-up sheets on their church bul'-'
letin boards. There are also permis-
sion sheets for youth who wish to
participate. On Sunday. June 15,
Centralia United Church and Zion
West United Church will holds spe-
cial offerings which will be desig-
nated for the Manitoba Flood Rt -
lief.. Please make your cheques
payable to either church and mark
them for flood relief. Receipts will
he issued in the - normal. way for
contributions. ' .
Donations of household items arc

contribute household items such as
cleaning supplies. toilet paper.
paper towels, toothpaste, tooth-
