After four years, the senior boys rugby program has been
improving steadily and is growing in popularity, yet the
Panthers are still struggling against more experienced
teams. South Huron finished its regular season schedule
last Tuesday. Playoff information was not available by
press time.

boys rugby teams took on two very
strong Nonhwestcrn teams with the
midgets losing 24-I0 and the sen-
iors bowing 47-10. Khamphay In

position and 8th man Jason Neil re-
corded tries for the seniors. •
O'Rourke said a lack of speed
hurt both teams in this match.

nition. program has passed
and all nominations have
been forwarded to the desig-
nated judges. .
. To help recognize the daily
contributions -of people who
coach in our coverage area,
the limes -Advocate teamed
up with the Coaching Associ-
ation of Canada and 3M -in
the Community Coaches
Recognition Program.
A lack of nominations
forced organizers tp push the
deadline date back; but de-
spite the extra time, the T -A
only received seven nomina-
tions and none were for •
women coaches. • .
A selection committee at
the London Free Press sports
department will. review all.
nominees and select a win-
ner who will receive a formal
certificate and a gold -tone
lapel pin. A photo of the re-
cipient will appear in the
Times -Advocate at a later
date.

Jeff MacLean signs
with Lake Superior
State University
SAULT STE. MARiE. MICH. - Defenseman Jeff MacLean from
Exeter has signed a National -Letter of intent to attend Lake Superior
State University in Michigan.
'MacLean played for the Kitchener Dutchman of the Midwestern
• • Junior B League from• 1995-97. The 6-0. 190 -pound- detenseman
was voted the League* s Best Defenseman.'atter totalling eight goals -
and 35 -points in 45 games. He -also -accumulated 108 penalty. mm=
