Slides were shown. on all kinds of clematis and a number were giv- en as door prizes. The Mothers and Others Gerarli- uni.Iunchcon.was wall attended and very enjoyable at the United Church en Saturday.. May 10 at noon sponsored by Unit one. During a short program which followed some of the members pre- sented a skit titled 'An Amazing Discovery. They portrayed shrubs and trees which had• been growing /*side a .stream for years -and sud• - denly they discovered that Zaccha-. cus had climbed a tree to see Jesus and that' Jesus was crucified on a wooden cross having died • for the redemption of sins.; Audrey .Wcstman also read a -.-poem 'Mothers were once daugh- ters'. Then Doreen McRohert gave. each -of the children present a beau- tifully decorated egg. Unit 2 mem- 'hers m. ere in charge of selling the geraniums. Arnold Ruskell, took charge of the. morning prayer service in the absence of Rev. Glenda Meakin. The sermon was about having the vision and faith to recognize God's Will through Jesus Christ. • The lessons were read by Muriel Lewis. Rosemary Schaefer and the minister. .The childrcns focus • was about 'sowing seeds and the invention of the seed drill. All the mothers and others 'were given carnations for • Mothers Day. • UCW Unit 2 met at Penny McRoberts home in Lucan on Monday eve- ning. May 5.
