• May I3; 1987. - Two athletes from South Huron, District High
School excelled in this week's Huron -Perth track and field meet and
won individual championships. Lee O'Rourke won the senior girls
title and Kim Van Dongen was hest in the midget girls category:
. Despite extensive searches. the ,whereabouts of two area men
•missing since April 25 during a fishing trip - onto Lake Huron has
heen- undetermined. They are Bill Deters of Exeter and Doug
McKay from R.R. 2. Kippen. ,
Ht)ron lire co-ordinator Fred Lobb recently 'presented aa award to
retired Crediton fireman Lorne Voigt for 43 years of dedicated ser-
vice. •

vis after tenders. had been opened for the installation of two pump-.
ing stations at wells in Ushorne and the pipeline bringing the water

Canadian Canners Ltd.. have installed a mobile communicating
system on the .new general radio service authorized by the depart-
ment of transport. Three f ieldmcn's cars, one truck and the viner sta-

Saving Time period.
.Exeter Players Guild won its -first award. the Lake Huron Zone
.. 7 Drama Festival trophy last week with the •play, "Rise and Shine."
Directed by James.Glaab.. the cast included, Mrs. Art Whilsmith,
Bob Russell, Mrs. James Smith and Frank Wildfong. Adjudicator
was J. Burke Martin, drama critic. of the London Free Presse.

er pars of the town..

tance for minor "adaptations that
may help seniors live in their own
homes longer.
•Mose 65 or older. as well as
:landlords. !ray be. eligible for a
_rant of up to 52.500 under
CMHC's Homc...Adaptations for
• Seniors' Independence (HASI) pro=
• gram. •
These funds are to be used .to
cover the cost of minor home modi-
fications than will allow seniors.to
continue to live independently in:
their own .homes. for as long as
possible.
• Adaptations made under this pro-
gram could include •implementing
handrails. easy -to -reach work • and,
storage areas, lever handles on
doors, walk-in showers, bathttib
seats or grab bars.
To -qualify for the HASi program,
applicants must meet. certain in-
come requirements and have diffi-
culty with activities associated with
daily living. The housing unit to be
adapted must also be a permanent
residence.
Canada Mortgage and Housing
Corporation has been helping to
house Canadians since established
as the federal government's hous-
ing agency in 1946.

Rotary Trail construction set to begin
GRAND BEND - Hank Krech,
Chairman of the Rotary Trail Com-
mittee. announced Thursday.. that
Rohuck Contracting Limited has
been awarded the' contract for the
construction of the Nature Trail
connecting Grand Bend, and -the
Pinery. The contract for signage
has been awarded to O'Brien Signs
of Zurich.
• A public ground -breaking cere-
mony is planned for 10 a.m. on
May 16 at Pinedale Avenue and
Highway 21, at the south end of
Grand Bend. Completion' of the
trail will take approximately four
weeks from that date.
'.The Nature Trail is a sevenki-
lometer' trail that runs along the
west side of Highway 21 between
Grand Bend and the Pinery: It will
be constructed of six inch deep re-
. cycled asphalt, and. Will be 3.1. me:
tern wide. The project is being man-
aged by the Rotary Club of Grand
Bend with cooperation from the
Town of Bosanquet, the Ministry of
Transportation of Ontario, the Min -
