April 29. 1987 -There are a host of new owners of:industrial prop-
erty in Exeter. ln-fact every ratepayer_ now -bas an investment in • 10
acres of vacant industrial land on Highway 83'East as council voted
unanimously to. purchase the property for $180,000. The land was
purchased from Len. Veri, and has a 600 -foot frontage on the high-;
way just east of Danhrie Moulded Plastics Ltd. -

• April 27, 1967 - if it's not one thing, it's another. Those were the
comments ,ti(, Mrs. Mattel Vanneste, R.R. 2, •Hensall as she- stood
. and watched a barn burn down on a farm owned by her husband.
Only 10: days earlier another ham on the same property was levelled
by a tornado. '
The Exeter Hawks lost to a strong Nov Hamburg Hahns team in•
,,the seventh and deciding gamF df the OHA Junior "C" semi-finals.
EMHA president Bill Gilfillan said. "The amazing, fact is that we
started out' al the first of the season building for a "D" team! and we

Arena manager Alvin'Willer( reported this was one,of .the best
. 'years the arena has ever had. More than. 9,000 fans attended the

The completion of Guenther/Tuckey Transports. Limited service

Since the School of Flying Control opened at Grand Bend Airport
in January of '1952. more thin 050 airtnen and 325 officers have
successfully completed their training. The school is slated to be

Street opened their eyes wide when they beheld A.J. Sweitzer ped-
alling dob'n•the. road, dodging autos, on one of the old-time bicycles
with the high wheel in front and a lmaller wheel at the rear_

The work of building the runways at Centralia Airport is •now in
full. swing. The last of the hangars is now in the final stages of con-

April 30, 1911 - Garnet Sweitzer of Crediton has purchased a
Hupmobile runabout. He hopes to have plenty of enjoyment out of it
this summer. -
The matter of making the Exeter Continuation School a• High
School was discussed by the board Thursday evening.
The Exeter branch of the Jackson Manufacturing Company has
been in operation for•nearly eight years and has given employment
to 50 people.
