Dave Farquhar scored a pair of goals for the home team, while Luke
Sims and Trevor Boersma netted the other two.
Sims and Boersma also had a strong game on defence.
The Panthers began defending their Huron -Perth Championship with a
tie in their league opener and a 5-1 win over Clinton on April 21.
Matt Szabo scored twice against Clinton and teammates Jesse Waters,
Souban Inlakhana and Farquhar added one goal each. McEwan said the
team looks capable of defending their Huron -Perth title.
Bagpipe player Roy Ellis leads -the players and coaches
of the Lucan Midget Hockey team into the Community
Centre Hall during Lucan's Minor Hockey Awards Banquet
on April 20. The midgets were given a standing ovation as
they entered the hall and were honored for winning the
"00" All -Ontario Championship last season. It was the
first time a Lucan midget hockey team has captured a pro-
vincial title in 39 years.

team tournament May 10

ZURICH - The Provincial Black
Tower Team Championship is
scheduled for May 10 at Oshawa.
Bluewater's Association's Black
Tower six , bowler team will be
competing in a single round robin,
match play, pins over average for-
mat for the provincial title.
Each bowler who beats their own
average by more pins than their op-
ponent on the opposing team will
receive one point. Three additional
points will be awarded to the team
that bowls the most pins over their
combined average, making a total
of nine possible points for each
game. Only non-playing coaches
will be allowed under Ontario Five
Pin Bowlers' Association
(O.F.P.B.A.) rules,

The Black Tower Provincial
Booster Club Championship has
been set for May 10 at Oshawa as
designated by the O.F.P.B.A. Blue -
water Association's Zone represen-
tative Bobbi Legrow will vie for
the Provincial Singles title in the
five game, most pins over average
competition among other bowlers
from across Ontario.
The Black Tower lane draw for
each bowlers' land and position in
the lineup will be completed prior
to the tournament by the
O.F.P.B.A.'s committee. In the
event of a tie for the title a one
game rolloff will be held between
the tied players to determine the
winner.

This year's derby will.take place
from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Many prizes, donated by area
businesses, as well as trophies will
be awarded afterwards. Last year
more than 300 people registered for
the event. Fees are $1 for anglers
16 -years -old and under and $2 for
17 years and older. Food and re-
freshments will be available and
the two kilometre nature trails will
also be open for hiking.
Prior to the derby, the Morrison
Dam reservoir will be stocked by
the Ausable Bayfield Foundation
and the Exeter Lions with over
1,000 eight to 10 inch rainbow
trout, as well as a few larger trout.
Fishing licenses are required for
anyone over 18 and under 65. Rain-
bow trout season officially opened
on April 26.
