ing Again": Grace Martin and Mary
• Lou Erb played duets on the piano
and organ "Jesus is King" and "Al-
leluia to the 'Risen 'Lord". Verda
Baechler read a . poem entitled
"Life" and Hutton read a poem en-
titled "Dare to he Different. •
Eleven residents were sung a hap-
py- birthday and presented a gift

idents.

formed Nursing Home Singers en-
tertained the residents under the su-
pervision of' Peter Visscher and
'Joyce Pepper •as pianist. Annie
Zandbergen read "On the Wings of
a Prayer" and the members sang
"'Blest • Be The Tie That Binds":
"This is My Father's World" and
"He Leadeth Mc" just to name a
few of the many hymns. -
Wednesday afternoon .the resi-
dents enjoyed tea and poetry in the
auditorium. Phillippa Steckle. read
poems from her booklet she had
written and created. vhite the resi-
dents sipped tca and ate homemade
-cookies.

speech on her trip out west.

Volunteer efforts
Centralia area resident Marg Carroll received a 9 -year pin
certificate and plant at the Exeter Villa Vounteer Open
House on Thursday afternoon. When asked what she liked
about volunteering, she replied, "Just the people...it makes
you feel better." Many other volunteers were appreciated at
the open house.

EXETER - 1t appears the plight
of.Walper Street has finally, been
resolved. Councillor Roy Trichnei
said council discussions with Hay
were amicable -and the township
was very cooperative in working
with Exeter to repair the road. thus
bringing an end to the controversy .
Under the terms of the agree-
ment. when Exeter -tenders for its
street construction. Walper will he
included, with Hay presumably
paying for there -construction. If
the project is cancelled. Hay will
pay : for the engineering: .
