The Stanley Rec Committee are accepting tenders for running the food booth at Stanley Township Ball Park. Mail: to or drop off at the Township Office by April 25 if in- terested. The Varna Church Pork Barbe- cue is to be held. June 18. Plans are underway and tickets will- be on sale shortly. A Community Yard Sale is com- ing up on May 17 and 18. Anyone interested can call Marion Coleman :at 263-5354: The end of the year wind up for crokinole was held with a supper at Millingtons. Ralph Stephenson was presented with a trophy for topping the 'A' division and Marg Hayter for topping the .'B' division in the handicap tournament. Ralph Ste- phenson was also presented with a gift for president last year and the club's number one player Joe Fu - lop was also presented with a small token for being thenew president for the following year. Five tables of crokinole were in play following at the church: Door prizes were won by Pat Taylor, Jim Kirton, Dave McClure, Bonnie Sit- ter, Melissa Sparling and Ross McDonald. • A team of four, Joe Fulop, Ralph Stephenson, Raymond Beierling and Bob Russell will be taking pan in a tournament in Kitchener at the Joseph Schneider Haus Museum. 1 FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL The Most Important Diamond Event of the Season! Exeter 235-2468 Lcococ��o.r, Auxiliary gives $25,000 to hospital EXETER - The regular meeting of the South Huron Hospital Auxil- iary was held April '8. • Donna Paynter President chaired the meeting; opening with 0 Cana-' da followed by a moment of silence. in memory of Leone Brock, a Life Member of the Auxiliary. A memo- rial verse was given. • A poem "Spring". was read by Donna Paynter. Mary Fisher intro- duced guest speaker Loralee Mar- shall of Kirkton, who gave a per- sonal history of her struggle with kidney disease, her time of dialysis and the wonderful recovery she made after a kidney transplant 13 years ago. Marjorie Johns thanked Loralee• and presented her with a gift of money which she requested• be donated to the Kidney Founda- tion, and urged the members to sign a donor card to the Kidney Founda- tion. Minutes were read and adopted. The treasurer's report was given. The -year-end reports of all com- mittees and the slate of officers for 1996-97 were read and adopted. A donation of $25,000 will be given to the hospital. The items of new equipment needed in the,hos- pital were chosen from the hospital . "Wish List" and requested they be purchased with this donation: All 'monies raised by the Auxiliary go . toward better patient care. Region #21 Spring Conference will be held on April 28 in,Kitchen- er-Waterloo.
