HENSALL President Marilyn
Campbell opened the April meeting
of the Carmel PCW with a poem.
-The worship was given -by Janeth
- Sangster _using Easter symbols as
her topic. Dorothy Taylor was the
pianist (or the evening.
Campbell- showed a photo of the
Junior and Senior Choirs taken by
the late Jack Doerr /in the 1960's.
which brought back many =ato-
nes. Secretary Cathy Bell read the
Minutes of the last meeting and the
correspondence. The ` group has
been invited to meetings in Exeter
and Seaforth. Campbell thanked the
'women who had helped at Queens-
way.. Helen McKay and Emma
Campbell served lunch.
At Hensall United Church, Dave
Williams was the guest minister on
Sunday. Mark Garlough was the or-.
ganist. The children's hymn was
"Jesus Teacher and Friend."

story. The choir sang the anthem
"The Whole People of God.".The
message was "Mission Impossi-
ble: Flowers- in the sanctuary were
in memory of Lula Watson. sister,
of Audrey Christie. -Choir practice
will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

16. The annual beef supper is
planned for April 23. Call Margaret

Sunday evening at Hensall. United
Church:
Anne Annen chaired the April
meeting of the Friendship Circle
which was held Monday evening.
April 7 at 7:30 •p.m. in the parlour'',
of Hensall United Church. She wel-
comed all and read a poem "This
Moment." Joyce Pepper had as her
meditation "Friendship" and - this
theme .was .' carried through' the
meeting. •
She read an article titled "Noth-
ing
i;i ni Good -for a Friend".The,
gross sang "We Give ;You But
Your Gs to dedicate the offer-
ing., The devotions were ,closed
With a poem "A Wealth of Friend-
ship". Thirteen members answered
the roll call naming their favorite
spring flower. Arrangements were
made at Queensway for. bingo in
the month of May. Mary Britnell is
looking after the, arrangements. An-'
nen closed the meeting with a
poem- entitled "Make Me a 'Better,
Friend." Lunch -was- served by An -
nen and Pepper and a time of fel-
lowship was enjoyed. '
• The sympathy of the community
is extended to Audrey Christie on
the death of her sister Lula Watson.
Green pickup has begun in the
Village of Hensall. Residents are
advised.that green waste -(including
grass clippings. garden. waste. tree.
trimmings, etc.) is collected. _free-
of-charge.,each Wednesday morn-.
ing. Pickup is arranged by contact-
ing the Village office at 262-2812.

wheelbarrows or cardboard boxes.
Tree trimmings. brush and branch-
es must be bundled, and in lengths
of less than four feet. .
The Hensall Economic Develop-
ment Committee is currently ac _

sail . Photo Contest. Submit your
best photo -in. the following catego-
ries: Pets,- Extraordinary Light and
Farm Folk. Entries will he on dis-
play at the Hensall Spring Fair. En-
tries must be received by Friday.
June 6 at noon. •
The Hensall Parks Board has re-
ceived a new 100 -cup coffee perk
donated to the Community Centre
by the Hensall Legion Ladies Aux-;
diary. •
Many Hensall organizations and
individuals are planning for the an-
nual Hensall Yard Sale on May 31.
There will be sales on every street,
food booths and special events.
Flousehold hazardous waste col-
lection days are April 18, 19 and
20. The collection of hazardous
materials (including paint. thinners,
some chemicals. aerosols, etc.) wilt
be --done- in the Townships of Wal-
lace and McKillop, the Towns of
Goderich and •St: Marys and the
Village - of Lucan. Individuals
should contact Bluewater Recy-
cling Association for specific. times
at these locations (1-800=265-
9799).
The fundraising campaign of the
Hensall Parks Board continues.
Several recent donations have been
received. toward the purchase of the
arena's self-propelled ice resurfac-
er. These include: Marg and Coog
Knight. Hensall Co-op. Knight
Electric. Exeter Ringette, Superior
Propane. Becker Farm Equipment:
Metzger's Meats, Kozy Korner
Restaurant. Elder Enterprises. Bill
Rowcliffe, Hensall Kinettes. Indus-
trial Drive Service and Hensall Mi-
nor. Hockey Association.

who entertained everyone with
their school speeches. Virginia Me -
gens spoke on "Being a Twin".
while her twin brother, Gat -tent told
about "Life on a Strawberry Farm."
Jasmine Sereda spoke on "What It
Is Like Being Small" and Karen en-
- lightened everyone with 'Memo-

Norma Cockwill opened the busi-
