Science fair winners travel to Regina
CLINTON Once again the an-.
nual Huron County Science Fair
was an unqualified success. Ninety-
one students from grades seven and
eight• representing the Huron.
County Puhii. and the Huron Perth..
Separate School Boards of F.duca-
hon and the Clinton and District
.Christian School. displayed 69 pro -
elects at •the (iiidench Knights ,of
Columbus Centre on April 9 The
projects examined everything -from
the flexibility of goalie sticks to
waysof improving student learning.
in classroom situations. Judges. had
. a.very lough time making the final
decision. as to which three of the •
top notch contenders would repre-
sent the county at the Canada -Wide
Science Fair .in early May The
judges' final decision named David
Lisle -and Duane Schiestel: both
grade eight students from Wingham
Public School, and Curtis McNeil
from Colborne- ('entral. Public
School as the three winners. These
three students will show their pro-
jects against similar aged students
from across Canada in Regina dur
ing the week of May 11.
. Organizers of the Huron County
Science Fair were encouraged h,
the level of projects at the Fair this
year.. They believe that this is an in-
dication of the quality of science
education that the students in this
county receive in the local schools
in the past two years, the winners at
the Huron County Science Fair
have won thrcc siker . and two
bronze medals at the t'anada-Wide
"Science Fair. It is felt that this
year's winners will do equally well.
