Both -enior and junior games are taking place there. • The Reach for the Top team continues its successful season today and also on Monday, March 31 in Clinton. The Senior Badminton team travels to Woodstock on Thursday • while the junior team heads there on April 1. Soccer and rugby are beginning to start practicing. for the•spring sea- son. The•senior boy s soccer team will try and defend the Huron Perth title they won last year. George McEwen is looking for his second championship as head coach. McEwen responded with delight when asked how the team looked this year. "With players like Chad Gilfil- Ian and Jesse Waters returning,•there should be no looking back." Good luck this year. Next Thursday. April 3, Athletic Council is hosting a Fashion Show titled "Going Places." Stores from around the arca will be displaying many different items on a runway. Students from the school are partic- ipating. The show starts at 7:30 in the large gym and ends at 8:30. Tickets are S5 each and are limited. You can purchase them at the high school. . There is' no school on Good Friday, but classes resume on Monday. The final night is May 31 at the Complex with a dance and lunch to follow. There are a few tickets left. available at the Stanley Township Office or from any Rec Committee Member for $100. The Stanley Township,Ball regis- tration is to be held April 12 form 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Complex Au- ditorium. T -Ball is $15 per child, Tyke to Bantam is $25 . per child and the family rate. of $50 per fami- ly. This is the only day for registra- tion. Coaches and helpers will he needed. Forty-five crokinole enthusiasts from a seven -county area con- verged on the Huron County Mu- seum at Goderich on March 8 for singles competition. The tournament hosted and orga- nized by the Varna Crokinole Club was a revival of the spring break tournaments that the Museum had discontinued some years ago. Top player was Joe Fulop, Exet- er, President of the host club, while another Varna player, Raymond Beierling took third place. Tony Snyder and John Conrad of the Cameron Heights Club of Kitchen- er finished second and fourth. Mur- ray Wagler of St. Jacobs Club came fifth with two more Varna players, Ralph Stephenson and Ivan ,McClymont tied for . sixth. Highest . standing woman player was Jennifer Wagler of St. Jacobs with Margaret McClymont and Margaret Hayter, both of Varna, close behind. Four St. Jacobs men Dan Shantz, Reg Mader, Paul Schweitzer and Lewis Sauder topped the consola- tion division. Refreshments were served by Bernice Reid and Mona Stephen- son of the Varna Club while Presi- dent Joe Fulop thanked the Mu - scum staff and management for their co-operation.
