MEW
Huron Motor Products Ltd. embraces the past 30 years of
success, crediting the strength and support of their customers
and dedication of employees. "
Over 30 years ago in Zurich, Robert Hamacher started
Huron Motor Products Ltd., A Pontiac, Buick Cadillac GMC
store, after leaving Parkhill where, he was a partner in a Chev
Olds dealership.
"From this time on, I could only look forward as I had
nothing to fall back on—, says Bob. "General Motors took a
mutual risk by assigning me a GM dealership. At that time,
who knew what the future would bring."
Moving to Exeter in 1983 was a favourable move for
H.M.P. The newer facilities and location contributed
significantly to the dealership's growth. In April, 1995 the
dealership expanded to include Chevrolet and Oldsmobile,
and is now a full 5 line GM dealership.
Growth through success is only rewarded, by the people
who strive to reach their goals. The following are some of the
acomplishments and goals that were met in the past year by
some of the people at H.M.P.
Joe Stephens, Paul Overholt, and Leonard Greinadus were
rewarded with Grandmaster Technician status. It is an
outstanding achievement that places them among the top 120
of 10,000 technicians across Canada who, participated in an
ongoing national skill tesing program.
Howard Neeb, Ed Meidinger, Allen Rader and Travis
Robinson were honoured with Master Technician status,
placing them in the top 500 of some 10,000 participants.,
Our Service Manager Howard McDonald and Parts
Manager Rob Dickey, enjoyed A "Cruise on the Carribean"
awarded by GM for their outstanding performance in
customer,satisfaction.
Jim Guenther and Chuck Erb reached an Elite Gold Level
in sales, an award measured not only by sales. but most
importantly by customer satisfaction.
Bill Vandeworp and Craig Soldan obtained Silver and
Bronze' Levels, respectively through their hard work and
dedication.
The entire dealership team was awarded Triple Crown
status for the fourth consecutive year; a tradition of
recognizing and rewarding those dealerships who excel in new
" vehicle, sales and customer satisfaction. To have a full line
GM dealership in the top 10 percent of all GM dealerships in
Canada is an accomplishment of which Bob, Wayne and Tim
are very proud.
"We have to give all the credit to the teamwork of our entire
staff inv olved at Huron Motor Products. Without their efforts
and dedication we would not be where we are today. They
understand the importance of customer satisfaction; what it
takes to make a customer happy," says Tim Hamather.
"In today's challenging times, we have to emphasize the
importance of taking our service to higher levels, to meet or
exceed our cltstomers"expectations.
Technology is changing so rapidly that at times it has
become overwhelming to think of what it may bring for the
future. Not only in our different brands of vehicles, but also
how we effectively communicate with, and provide service for
our customers.
With this direction in mind we need to make the necessary
changes to compete in a very competitive market. Expansion
and renovations are in the works for H.M.P. to meet the
requirements of "General Motors Image 2000", as well as to
provide better service for our customers and be identified as a
full scale auto sales and servicing facility for the future.
