Twenty-two sleds, 15 years old and older ware registered. . Among them were eight brands that are no longer built. The oldest snowmobile at the show was a 1968 Ski Doo Olympic owned by Don Mousseau. Also present was a 1969 Scorpion that belonged to Cecil Wood and a 1969 Ski Whiz owned by Ken Elder. Legion Auxiliary donates for scholarships The Auxiliary donated $200 at a recent meeting. By Liz Sangster Hensall correspondent • HENSALL A community pro- gressive euchre will he held at the Hensall Community Complex on February -13 at • 1:30 p.rn. Prizes and coffee will be provided. The admis- sion is $2. The next Hensall and Area Com- munity Drop -In will be held Fchru- ary 20 at the Hensall United Church. The day begins with foot care at 10 a.m. Contact Marg Cole at 262-23(14 if you arc'intcrestcd in scheduling an appointment. Lunch will be served at 12 noon. Follow- ing lunch, Biddy Cammack will lead intcxcrcises. The speaker for the day is Jim Floyd, who will talk ;Mout winter driving safety. Helen MacLean will give a read- ing in celebration of Valentine's Day. For those who wish to stay, the day will he wrapped up with card playing. The cost is $4 per per-. son. This event is sponsored by Town and Country Home Support Servic- es and local volunteers. The Friendship Circle of Hensall United Church met February 3 at 1:3(1 p.m. in the church parlor. Kay Mock chaired the meeting and wel- comed everyone and opened with a poem "Heart's Gift.". Mary Brit- nell chose as her devotional theme "The Golden Clasp." The- roll call was answered by 16 members, each giving a verse with the word "Love" in it. • The Canadian Food Grains Bank luncheon will he held on February 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Hensall United Church. Tickets arc $6 per person. Arrangements were made for the World Day of Prayer which will be held March 7 at 2 p.m. in Hensall United Church. The Presbyterian Ladies will he taking part. A video entitled "The Seven Cir- cles of Prayer" was shown. "The Prayer of St. Francis of Assissi" was read to close the meeting. A Lunch was hosted by Beatrice Rich- ardson and Lorna Spencer and a time of fellowship was enjoyed. The Hensall Legion Ladies Aux- iliary held a meeting on February 5 with president Iva Reid presiding. , A $200 donation was given to the Legion Auxiliary Bursary for scholarships. Auxiliary members decided to go on Mondays for the month of March to put on Bingo for Queensway Nursing Home resi- dent. The annual penny sale was discussed and rncinhers decided to have it again this year. Auxiliary and Legion went to put on a party for Queensway on Wednesday night, Fchruary 5. Dorothy Taylor chaired the Feb- ruary meeting of the Carmel Pres- byterian P.C.W. Rachel Schwalm gave the devotional. Dorothy Tay- lor was pianist for the evening. Secretary Cathy Bell read the min- utes of the January meeting. Lunch was served by Marg Varley and Marg Baker. Tracey Whitson- Bahro -was the guest minister at Carmel Presbyterian Church. Flow- ers in the church were in memory of the late Susan Pollux At Hensall United Church Rev. Peebles was the guest minister. His message was "Communion Is?" Doug Klopp was the organist. Dan Crerar and Raye Jacobe were the ushers with Dawn Corbett looking after the elevator.. The sacrament of communion was observed. The Of- ficial Board meet February 19 at 7:30 p.m. A VON information night will be held February 25 at 7:30 ,p.m. at Hensall Untied Church. Lawyer Cheryl Mason will speak on Living Wills and Power of Attorney. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome. The sympathy of the cdmmunity is extended to Pat and Ken Pollock and family. Ken's mother Susan will be remembered for the many fancy hats and dresses she loaned last year to the Hay Township Fashion Show. Thursday afternoon, February 6 in the Sunday Schools rooms of Grand Bend United Church. Hazel Broad gave an opening worship with thoughts on private prayer and scripture from Matthew. Hymns were sung with Irene Ken- nedy at the piano. President Evelyn Johnson read a poem and gave a program reading on "Theological rellections on everyday life.
