Formation celebrated
of Women's Institute
DASHWOOD - On February 19,
Women's Institute members around
the world will celebrate the forma-
tion of first W.I. branch in Stoney
Creek, Ontario.
This province -wide meeting in-
cludes the singing of W.I. Ode, the
reciting of the Mary Stewart Col-
; lect, the reading of Original. 1st
W.I. at Stoney Creek and a skit
"Do You Know That...".
The roll call is "What i have ac-
complished with a W.I. skill". The
motto was "Celebrate the Past,
Challenge the Future."
All members of the Dashwood
Women's Institute participated in
the program .entitled "Come Cele-
brate the Century 1898-1997".
Each decade included customs,
quotation, a friendly gesture and a
display item. The theme of the top-
ic was "How W.I. is', like an Ap-
ple."
The candle -lighting included the
"institute Prayer and the W.I. Cen-
tennial Song". This memorable
evening ended with lunch and indi-
vidual jokes.

ruary 4, with the pot luck supper at
6 pm. The tables where nicely dec-
orated for Valentines w_ ith candles
and baskets of treats.
