EXETER - There arc far too
many coaches throughout our com-
munity whose hard work and con-
scientious efforts go unnoticed. -
Every- community seems to have
a few of these special people. They
spend countless hours enhancing
the young athletes they coach while
•presenting a positive ithagc of
sports and athletics.
Exeter and its surrounding com-
munity has a rich sporting history
and behind all the tradition arc
hours of unpaid dedication by local
coaches.
To help recognize the daily con-
tributions of people who coach in
our coverage. area. the Times -
Advocate is teaming up with the
Coaching Association of Canada
and 3M in the Community Coaches
Recognition Program.
The program is designed to honor
coaches who go beyond the call of
duty. and exemplify excellence in
their coaching performance and
philosophies. There arc many wor-
thy candidates, all they need is for
your to nominate them.
A nomination form appears in
this issue of the Times -Advocate
and reminders will appear for the
next three issues. They are also
available at the Times -Advocate at
424 Main Street Exeter. Nomina-
tions are due by March 30:
A selection committee will
choose four outstanding candidates
after reviewing all nominees and
select a male coach winner and a
runner-up, as well as a female
coach winner and a runner-up.
They will receive a formal certif-
icate 'and a gold -tone lapel pin.
Photos of the recipients will .appear
in the Times -Advocate at a later
date.
It may only he a. small -token. of
ap reeciation for these coaches, hut
they serve to he recognized for
their su m ofsports_in our arca.
Coache, nominated can come
from any , ort played at any time
of the year. but they must reside in
the area se ved by this newspaper
and must hi ve coached at least twb
years. Nomi ations will also he ac-
cepted for coaches involved in non -
mainstream sports.
Winners will - be judged on the
following standards: • -
- Demonstrates respect for of-
ficials. opponents and parents.
while using a philosophy of fair
play.
- Believes in the all-around de-
velopment of athletes. on and off
the playing field.
- Is an 'example of a positive im-
age of coaching.
- Has the desired ability to im-
prove the athletic performance of a
team or individuals.

EXETER - There arc far too
many coaches throughout our com-
munity whose hard work and con-
scientious efforts go unnoticed. -
Every- community seems to have
a few of these special people. They
spend countless hours enhancing
the young athletes they coach while
•presenting a positive ithagc of
sports and athletics.
Exeter and its surrounding com-
munity has a rich sporting history
and behind all the tradition arc
hours of unpaid dedication by local
coaches.
To help recognize the daily con-
tributions of people who coach in
our coverage. area. the Times -
Advocate is teaming up with the
Coaching Association of Canada
and 3M in the Community Coaches
Recognition Program.
The program is designed to honor
coaches who go beyond the call of
duty. and exemplify excellence in
their coaching performance and
philosophies. There arc many wor-
thy candidates, all they need is for
your to nominate them.
A nomination form appears in
this issue of the Times -Advocate
and reminders will appear for the
next three issues. They are also
available at the Times -Advocate at
424 Main Street Exeter. Nomina-
tions are due by March 30:
A selection committee will
choose four outstanding candidates
after reviewing all nominees and
select a male coach winner and a
runner-up, as well as a female
coach winner and a runner-up.
They will receive a formal certif-
icate 'and a gold -tone lapel pin.
Photos of the recipients will .appear
in the Times -Advocate at a later
date.
It may only he a. small -token. of
ap reeciation for these coaches, hut
they serve to he recognized for
their su m ofsports_in our arca.
Coache, nominated can come
from any , ort played at any time
of the year. but they must reside in
the area se ved by this newspaper
and must hi ve coached at least twb
years. Nomi ations will also he ac-
cepted for coaches involved in non -
mainstream sports.
Winners will - be judged on the
following standards: • -
- Demonstrates respect for of-
ficials. opponents and parents.
while using a philosophy of fair
play.
- Believes in the all-around de-
velopment of athletes. on and off
the playing field.
- Is an 'example of a positive im-
age of coaching.
- Has the desired ability to im-
prove the athletic performance of a
team or individuals.
Applies relevant coaching tech-
niques.
