Santa, Santa sings at night
Santa Santa eats cookies
That's why he's got a belly.
Why Christmas is
Special to Me
By Trent Taylor, Grade 3/4
Usborne Central
I like Christmas because we get a
lot of toys. I'm glad that Santa's
eight reindeer help him especially
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer or
else if there wasn't the eight rein-
deer, there would be no Christmas.
Letter to Santa
By Billy Brand, Grade 2
St. Boniface School
Dear Santa:
I want a bike and Lego and a
watch for Christmas. I really want
my family to be happy on Christ-
mas. I want a computer for Christ-
mas.

Santa's Christmas
By Brent Ingram
Grade 3, Heiman P.S
Santa went on a vacation in Flor-
ida because he was tired of the
North Pole and all Elfs missed him.
Well Mrs. Claus didn't even know
he was gone. And then Santa for-
got all about Christmas and it was
Christmas Eve. He tried to get
there. Guess what, he just made it
in time to deliver the presents. And
he never went on a vacation
through Christmas Eve again!
Christmas is Coming
By Sarah Parker, Grade 5
Stephen Public School
Christmas is coming
Hear the bells ring
Outside our window
Carollers sing
As we gather 'round the tree
I'm amazed at what I see
We go outside
To have a big ride
Sledding across the country hillside
The wind's in my face
It bites my nose
I shiver right down to my toes
As our mitts dry out
By the fire so bright
We sip hot chocolate
And all say good night!

Dear Mrs. and Mrs. Claus,
Santa and Mrs. Claus, I hope you
arc not busy this Christmas. I love
when you give everyone a present.
You are very nice to kids. I love
you. Christmas is the best thing in
the year. I wish I had everything
good and fun in the whole wide
world but I know you can't give me
everything. Maybe you can at least
give me three or four things. I hope
the Reindeer don't get cold on
Christmas. I love everyone. I hope
you don't forget one person. My
teacher is real nice. I hope you give
her good stuff. My aunt just loves
breakable stuff. She has a lot of
breakable stuff. My aunt and uncle
give me lots of stuff. I hope the
elves are making good stuff for eve-
ryone. I hope everyone is being
good. My class is nice to me, so you
should give them pretty good stuff.
There is this one girl in my class.
She is funny. You should give her
some things that make her laugh.
Her name is Megan. She is really
nice. I hope you and the elves and
reindeer have a good Christmas!
Your friend

Dear Santa:
Merry Christmas! Thank you for
the presents that I got last year. I
especially liked my Polly Pockets.
How are you and Mrs. Claus do-
ing? I have been pretty good this
year. This year I would like some
food for the poor, clothes for the
poor, a Crissy doll for me and a
Barbie.
I will leave out some cookies and
milk for you. I'll try to be good the
rest of the time.
Love your friend, Amanda
P.S. I am a nine-year-old girl.
Letter to Santa

Dear Santa:
I don't really need anything be-
cause I am going to Florida with
my family. Although if you did
want to get me something you
could get me a blocker, a glove and
goalie pads. I would also like a Ma-
ple Leaf helmet.

Maybe Next Time
Invisible Man
By Lindsay Love, Grade 6/7
Zurich Public School
He watched over People-ville!
The Invisible Man checked his
eyes!
Then he fel!!
What he saw was an amazing sur-
prise!
Every Person down in People-
ville, even Jason and Paul,
Were dancing with the most
presents of all!
He hadn't stopped the gifts from
coming!
They came!
Somehow or other, they came all
the same!
And the Invisible Man, with his
big feet in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling:
'How could it be so?'
'They came with ribbons! They
came with tags!'
'The packages came in boxes and
bags!'
And he puzzled for hours, till his
puzzler was sore.
Then the Invisible Man thought
of something he hadn't before!
'Maybe presents,' he thought,
might come from the store!
'Maybe presents...perhaps... mean
a little bit more!'
And what happened then...?
Well...in People -vile they say
That the Invisible Man's little
heart
Grew a lot larger that day!
Poems
There once was a little kitten
Who only had one mitten
Santa came along
And sang a graceful song
And the kitten got frost bitten.
There once was a Christmas tree
Who obviously couldn't see
He tried to walk far
But all he has is a star
I would know because he ran into
me.

Frosty the Snowmobile
Grade 6/7
Zurich Public School
Frosty the Snowmobile was a re -
vin' happnin' soul,
With electric start and 800 cc's,
And two skis with awesome car-
bides.
Frosty the Snowmobile is a 90's
kinda machine they say;
He was made of plastic and steel,
but the Party Guys squeal how he
came to a race one day.
There must have been some gas in
that old gas tank that they found,
For when they placed it in his mo-
tor he began to spin around,
Oh, Frosty the Snowmobile as fast
as he could be,
And the Party Guys lied he could
slip and slide, and if you did you
could collide.
Revity rev rev,
Revity rev rev,
Look at Frosty go;
Revity rev rev,
Revity rev rev,
Over the hills of snow.
Celebrate the big and
srnaN wonders this season.
We appreciate your
patronage and hope to serve
you in 1997

I Sense Christmas
By Jessica Gingerich, Grade 8
Zurich Public School
Eyes see the glistening lights upon
the Christmas tree,
Eyes sec the sparkling snow that
falls so gracefully,
My nose smells the turkey dinner
from which we eat,
My nose smells the evergreens
their aroma is so sweet,
My ears hear the Christmas bells
chiming merrily,
My ears hear the carolers singing
faithfully,
My mouth helps me eat the food
my grandma always cooks,
My mouth helps me sing the songs
from the Christmas book,
My hands help me open gifts of all
different sizes,
My hands help me eat my food,
cakes and Christmas pies.
These senses help me get to know
what Christmas is all about,
These senses are what I need when
Christmas comes around.
