I wilt tell you about a Christmas to remember. When I was a child I was very fortunate, I had a house, a mother, a father and a dog. One day my dad came home with no pay check. He said he got fired. The next day he could not find a job. He looked all around town. Then my mom said she lost her job too. Ding dong. The mail man was here. There was only one letter. It was the house bill. We could not pay it. $o my dad finally said that we have to sell our house. We sold our. TV, our kitchen set, our bed- roCkit eats, our living room set and even our house within one month. Everything was sold but not my dogSam. Sam was a toy poodle. Wcould not afford to keep him but we had to. The next day we set out with suitcases to Paris in France. We are in Versailles right now. "It is time" said my Father. As we were leaving I had tears in my eyes as I walked away from my friends. By 9 o'clock and seven hours of walking we found a place to stay for the night. There were other people there too, all homeless. The only money we had was 1000 dol- lars. We took all the money out of the bank. At 10 every one was asleep but not me and my friend Mary, oh and my dog Sam. Mary told me that the same thing happened to her that happened to me. In the morning my mom and dad took 5.00 dollars and the rest of the homeless people and went for breakfast at a restaurant. They just loved it and so we all became a family. Mary and I always played to- gether. We played hopscots, tag, hide and seek. We were never in a fight until December 19. It was al- most Christmas and I said to Mary that I had nothing to get for her for Christmas. 'That's OK!" said Mary. "No it• is not OK. You are my best and only friend and you should not be out on the streets!! "Neither should you Vicky". Then I ran off. In two hours I came back to Mary. Every one in the ally was happy because my dad bought a lot- tery ticket and won! 1 The lottery ticket was for 1 million dollars. The first thing my dad did was split the money with the homeless families. "No!" said a man named Holken, 'This is your money." But I want to share it with you. We are a family. I will go out and look for a house, a large house with furniture and 3 door garage. We will all have Christmas together! That sounded good. Mary and I were so happy. • On Christmas Day I got a easy bake oven, a teddy and a family. Mary got a teddy as well, a book and I bought her a friends forever necklace. Ten years later we were still friends and always will be. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus By Laura Elder Age 10, Hensall P.S. "Good night Mommy." said 7 year-old Rebecca. "Good night sweetie," said her mother. "Did you put out the cookies?" Rebecca asked. It was Christmas Eve and Rebecca wanted to give Santa the best Christmas ever. She made a gift for him and Mrs. Claus, the best cushions on the couch and the baked extra cookies. "Yes honey I did. The gifts you made him are by the tree with your letter. Now please Rebecca go to bed. Love you", said her mon. But this year Rudolph's wearing rocket packs on his hooves. After the rocket packs were fas- tened, the elves were about to hitch him to the sleigh when the rocket packs got activated and Rudolph just disappeared. The elves ran and told Santa what happened and San- ta called a world wide search for Rudolph and the rocket packs. Meanwhile the rocket packs ran out of fuel and Rudolph began to slowly drop to the ground. He land- ed on the ?round a kilomejer away from the city of Toronto. He decid- ed to have a good time and up ahead he saw a wallet full of S100 bills. Then Rudolph took off his rocket packs and left. Meanwhile back at the North Pole,Santa and the elves found Ru- dolph's rocket pack in Toronto, so they started for Toronto. Rudolph went to an Argonauts game at the Skydome vs. the Win- nipeg Blue Bombers. The Argos won 42-2. Then he went into the C.N. tower. Meanwhile, the elves arrived where the rocket packs were left. Santa told the elves to split up and look for Rudolph. Rudolph left the C.N. Tower and went to a theatre to see Toy Story. Meanwhile, the elves couldn't find him so they decided to search for him from the North Pole. After the movie, Rudolph went to a Ca- nadian Tire store to buy toys for his fans, tools for the elves and got Santa some new reins and a box of tools from Black and Decker to help fix the sleigh when needed and treats for the other reindeer to give for Christmas. Meanwhile, the elves found the shopping reindeer. They told Santa and he said to fire a teleportation beam at Rudolph. Rudolph just checked out and got his purchase when the beam hit him. When he appeared back at the North Pole, he saw that Santa was angry, but when he showed them their gifts, they were speechless ex- cept Santa who said "Thank you for the gifts." Jack Frostt 1 By P bblic Scholl I went to sleep one night, The next morning I awoke to the most beautiful sight, Ice castles, birds, and planes taking flight, The next night I went to sleep and awoke the next morning, Again I saw birds and planes flying and soaring, As I went to sleep the next night, I stayed up to see, Who was making these beautiful pictures for me. Under the covers I hid, I saw a little man at my window, I did! He held a tiny silver paintbrush as small as a pin, Which he held in his hands, so tiny and thin. He swept the brush over the win- dow with care, He painted a woman with long, flowing hair. I awoke the next morning, I must have been dreaming, I looked up at the window, the pic- ture had changed, The picture was of me and the man, but rearranged, This time it was he that was hidden under the covers in bed, And I had the paintbrush tucked into the hat on my head.
