Vandals hit Lucan
LUCAN - It seems as if Exeter is
not alone in it's problem with
Christmas vandals.
Lucan Reeve Rob Brady told his
councillors at a meeting last Tues-
day that he has received numerous
complaints about Christmas deco-
rative light bulbs being smashed or
stolen.
Exeter has being experiencing
the same problem at MacNaughton
Park where 60 bulbs were stolen
off the trees recently. The lights
were replaced but vandals returned
and removed more than 300 bulbs,
many of which were smashed on
the ground.
Brady said there is a common
perception the culprits are local
youth, although, no one has been
caught or positively identified.
Administrator Ron Reymer said
the problem is not isolated, with
most damage occurring on Main
and Princess Streets.
Exeter Council has approved the
posting of a $100 reward for infor-
mation dealing with its vandalism.
