The carol sing will begin at the Scout Hall/Youth Centre where participants will meet. A wagon will travel down Main Street to the Exeter Villa. The event is expected last approximately 2 hours and will be followed with hot chocolate. Vol- unteers will collect food for the food drive and residents may leave non -perishables on porches for collection. Everyone is invited to participate. Dashwood WI Christmas party held Christmas dinner DASHWOOD - Dashwood Women's Institute met at Liz Al- len's Restaurant for a delicious Christmas dinner with all the trim- mings. The convene& were Ruth Stire and Freida Weir. Members and guests completed a "Christmas Friendship Quiz". The Roll Call was "What I like best about Christ- mas and an unusual happening at Christmas time". Everyone brought food items for the food bank. Members were re- minded to send a card to her secret pal. Members then answered con- test questions about the true thean- ing of Christmas. The meeting end- ed by singing many ,Chtistmas carols. . EXETER - About 50 sisters and brothers of the Pride of Rebekahs of Huron sat down to a Christmas meal. Five meals were taken to shut-in members. Members living in the villa were remembered with a visit and gifts of ginger bread men and Christmas ornaments. Donations were made to Eye Re- search and the Christmas Bureau. There will be a euchre in the Lodge Hall December 1I at 8 o'clock. Hillcrest, St. Marys are having a Poor Boy Lunch December 11. Our Secret Sister party will be January 15. There will be no meeting Janu- ary 1. The 1997 sessions will be in London at the Radison Hotel, May 18-22 because costs are too high in Toronto. Sister Rose Webster won the Christmas ar- rangement and Sister Almira Ford won the wooden Christmas tree. Proceeds from that draw will be given to the District.
