Q. Caw f edi gisaksrs to my existi+ g
television to improve the smote
A Extra speakers can usually be I
added to your television, and will
greatly improve the sound of
movies, sports, or anything. There
are a few methods which can be
used In achieving this goal.
The first step is to chock the back of -
your television for speaker clips.
There should be 2 black, and 2 red
clips. U you have these, just plug in a
pair of speakers and enjoy.
If not, then look for a set of sup -on DERICK IJ[cGEE
RCA type jacks labeled as
"VARIABLE AUDIO OUT", or just AUDIO OUT'.
Now, if you have a snail mini stereo with an "AUXILIARY INPUT",
you an play your television through it, or the same way with a
stereo or home theater amplifier.
For more information, call or stop in and let us help you get your
system up to par for Christmas.

PHARMACY
Q. Explain why some
medications should be taken on
n empty stomach and others
uld be taken with food.
. For certain drugs, food may
slow the absorption into the
lood stream and thus slow
the onset of action. Some
medications may be destroyed
y the stomach acids which
are produced when food is
aten. Therefore, an empty
stomach is best. Some
medications should be taken
ith food to improve their
sorption into the bloodstream cr to reduce the
irritation that they may cause to the stomach. If you
are in doubt about which to take your medication
check with your pharmacy.

Q. How difficult is it for the .
average homeowner to install an
interior door?
A. Installing interior doors
can be tricky at times. Finish
carpenters are skilled
tradesmen who mortise out
hinge pockets, drill for lock ¢ .
sets, and carefully fit the door
and jamb in the opening. For
the average homeowner, the job is made much easier with
pre -hung door kits. This I C[ M: MAL /1 E

completely asalmbled and the

available in a variety of styles and sizes to suit most
openings.
Q. Most of my breathing
problems (asthma) occur
when I am in my home, why
is this and how can I help my
situation?
A. The air in our homes
contains small particles of
dead human skin, dust,
pollens allergens, dust mite
feces, etc. If you have pets,
you may be allergic to their
odors or dander. Also a
moldy, mildewy basement can
give off gases that causes a
highly allergic reaction to .
some people, not to mention
the many cleaning products in our Acmes containing
many respiratory irritants. To help clear, these
pollutants out of your air call Lifetime Home

APPLIANCE CENTRE
Q. Is it hard on my
refrigerator to have the door
opened often in a short period
of time?
A. No, not really. Although
having the refrigerator
door open constantly or
having it opened, and
closed very frequently will
cause it to work harder,
and therefore use more
hydro, it is not necessarily
overly "bad" for it. As a
fridge door is opened,
warm air rushes in
replacing the cold air. The refrigerator then must
generate, and spread out more cold air. So,
opening the fridge door causes the fridge to
work harder, but that is what it is supposed to
do. In extremely humid periods, having the door
open too long, or too often will cause the
refrigerator to 'Sweat", along the gasket so it is
not recommended to leave the door open too
long at such a time.

CAT FOOD
RENT -ALL
FUNERAL SERVICE
Q. Can you explain why ft is
important that cat food has a
low ash and magnesium
content? Why should they
have dry food opposed to
caned cat foods -
A. The total mineral content of
a food is what is known as
ash. Ash refers to the residue
leftover after lab analysis,
during which the food is burnt
at 600 deg. C. It is a common
misconception that a low ash
diet is ideal. While at one
time, high ash foods were
thought to cause bladder
stones, it's been proven that
this is not the case. A low HIRAM THOMPSON
magnesium content in food is
important, however, in
reducing bladder stones and infections. As far as d4'
cat food as compared to canned is concerned, it is the
ped owner's choice. In general, dry is cheaper and
better for the teeth, but each form may provide a -
complete and balanced diet. MTS provides a wide
variety of pet foods to meet all of your feeding needs.
Q. What happens if
something breaks while
they have it rented? Who
pays for fixing it?
A. When you rent a tool

breaks due to misuse
and/or abuse, then
those who rented the
equipment will be held
liable for damages.
