Last week, I noted that Operation
Christmas Child Shoe Box will be
operating once again this year.
Filled shoe boxes should be
brought to the church by Novem-
ber 10.
In 1995, over 812,000 children in
15 countries, including Bosnia, Jor-
dan, and Rwanda, received shoe
boxes filled with toys, school sup-
plies, and other small gifts. The
project is headed by the President
of Samaritan's Purse, Franklin Gra-
ham, the son of well-known evan-
gelist Rev. Billy Graham.
Anyone interested in participat-
anniversary
ing this year should start by decid-
ing if the gift will be for a boy or a
girl. The age categories are infant,
age two to four, five to nine, or 10
to 14. Suggested gifts include small
toys such as stuffed animals, dolls,
or balls; school supplies such as
pendils and sharpeners, coloring
books, paper, and solar calculators;
hygiene items such toothbrush,
soap, or hairbrushes; baby items;
candy, socks, and hats, etc.
A note to theichild and a photo of
your family can also be included. If
you include your name and ad-
dress, the child may write to you.
A donation of $5.00 or more would
also be appreciated to help cover
shipping costs. For boxes or an-
swers to questions, contact Bob
Graham at 228-6795.
