Rebekahs install officers
EXETER - D.D.P. Sis. Irene
Richmond and her Installation
Team, Brussels, installed the offi-
cers of Pride of Huron Rebekah
Lodge #338 October 16. There
were visitors from St. Marys and
Forest. Sis Marguerite Crawford
read the Commission. Sis. Doris
Denham was installed as Noble
Grand.
Denham visited Sis. Katherine
Ens and gave her flowers. She sent
an anniversary card to Sis. Olive
and Bro. Garnet Hicks. Sis. Lois
McFalls and Sis. Jean Noels visited
the Hicks'. Sis. Evelyn Flynn is
feeling poorly again.
The group will soon be selling
cheese to make money for their
50th birthday party, May 24, 1997.
V.P. Sis. Margaret Tremblay will
make her official visit to the Dis-
trict December 10 in Brussels.
There will be a banquet at the Unit-
ed Church at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10
and may be purchased from the sec-
retary any time. The meeting will
follow in the Lodge Hall at 8 p.m.
The next meeting will feature the
annual Memorial Service. At the
meeting November 20 they will
have a Tupperware party.
Sis. Marguerite and Bro. Ray
Crawford will be celebrating their
69th wedding anniversary in Brus-
sels. Sis. Barbara Tiedeman pre-
sented Sis. Mavis Atthill with a gift
from the Lodge.
Sis. Isobel Mardlin spoke on be-
half of the St. Marys sisters, Sis.
Betty Cardiff spoke for the Brus-
sels sisters and Sis. Pat Frayne
spoke, congratulating the team for
their fine work. Sis. Irene Rich-
mond's parents were in an accident
in Saskatoon and her father died
shortly after. She got home in time
for the Installation. Sis. Lila Ellis
and her committee conducted a
draw on several articles.

Bluewater Rest Home. activities
ZURICH -residents of Blue Water Rest Home
eajoyed visits their family and friends over the
Thanksgiving weekend.
Tuesday driver Jim Purvis took the bus off in a
Goderich direction. Kurt Gebel, Clarence Gascho, Es-
ther Makias, Ruby Bell, Cera Hamilton, Connie Gra-
ham, Pearl Miller, Elizabeth Gingerich, Hilda Rader
and Catherine Riehl enjoyed a drive. Many points of
interest were seen.
Tuesday evening members of the Christian Re-
formed Church, Exeter started their monthly fall visits.
Peter Visscher as chairperson introduced the group
who sang approximately 10 hymns. Everyone enjoyed
refreshments and fellowship.
On Wednesday afternoon Gladys and the "Merry
Makers" visited the home and provided the residents
with Oktoberfest music.
Sunday morning church service at Zurich Mennonite
Church was enjoyed by Roy Gingerich, Beatrice
Rader, Philippa Steckle and Clarence Gascho who
boarded the wheelchair bus, under the direction of vol-
unteer driver Dennis Hutton.
Pastor Gerald Wilson, Lake Huron Community
Church, Grand Bend conducted Thursday afternoon
Chapel Service. Fr. Elwyn Morris, St. Peter's Catholic
Church, St. Joseph celebrated Mass. Winnie Hutton,
Zurich Mennonite Church, conducted Tuesday after-
noon Bible Study in the Chapel.
The residents enjoyed the movie "Black Beauty" on
Monday afternoon, loaned to the residents for viewing
by Clarence Smillie of the BWRH Apartments.
Condolences to the family and friends of the late
Mrs. Belva Pearl Willis who passed away on Saturday,
October 12 at BWRH in her 89th year. Belva came to
the home from London on June 12, 1996. Belva was
able to spend four months at the home with her son-in-
law Gerald Stone.
The residents look forward to a lunch trip to Aunt
Gussie's, Grand Bend and the Lakeview Conservative
Mennonite Church members visit on October 22.
