BRUSSELS - The sales at Brussels Livestock
for the week ending October 4, 1996.
Fed Cattle: 817 Cows: 266
Veal calves: 496 Lamps and Goats: 187
Stockers: 2328 Pigs: light run
All weights of cattle sold al steady prices on Tues-
day. Veal sold $5.00 lower with lambs selling steady.
All classes of stockers sold on a steady trade.
There were 546 steers on offer selling from 87.00 to 92.00 to the high
of 100.00.
Twenty-eight steers consigned by Kenruth Farms Ltd., Lucknow aver-
aging 1 167 lhs. sold for an average of 91.28 with sales to 100.00.
Forty-three steers consigned by Cunningham Farms, Lucan averaging
1366 lhs. sold for an average of 90.45 with sales to 97.75.
Eight steers consigned by Jim Howatt. Londesborough averaging 1286
lhs. sold for an average of 96.48 with sales to 97.00.
Thirty-six steers consigned by Ed McCann, Dashwood averaging 1336

Borland Farms invites you to a seed demonstration day on
FRIDAY OCTOBER 11, 1996 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M.
at WBR FARM on #4 Hwy. - 1 1/4 miles south of Hensel!, 3
1/4 miles north of Exeter
There will be two separate plots on location:
1) First Line Seeds Ltd. have soy plot and will have
representatives on hand to tour it with you and also discuss
the new and upcoming varieties. (Round Up Ready Soys).
2) Ciba Seeds will have representatives on hand to show their
Maximizer Corn plot with all the BT Corn varieties in it. In
addition, they will have the technical van there for growers to
tour.
At noon we will have a BBQ and refreshments.

Dear Customer;
Traditionally, the sales season for seed has
been November to February. In the last seed season, Ciba
Seeds was the first seed company to introduce Corn Borer
resistant corn. This year we have 6 BT Corn Borer varieties to
offer (2600 to 3200 HU).
However, due to the overwhelming demand for these varieties,
they will be sold out by mid October. I have just started outour
to see you - the grower, in the last week and it does take time.
Therefore, for those who know they would like to order
Maximizer Corn, please give me a call at 235-0567; 660-
9689; 642-8797.
Orders for Maximizer Corn will also be taken at the Seed
Demonstration Day On October 11.
