On August 24, 1996, Leanne
Charters and Mark MacDon-
ald were united in marriage
among their family and
friends. The ceremony took
place at St. Andrews United
Church in Kippen with Rev.
Cheri DiNovo officiating. The
bride is the daughter of Bill
and Marlene Charters of Kip -
pen. The groom is the son of
Brian and Karen MacDonald
of Seaforth. Lori Nigh, friend
of the bride, was maid of hon-
or. Bridesmaids were Sum-
mer Papple, friend of the
bride, Barb Terpstra, cousin
of the groom and Carrie Har-
ris, cousin of the groom. Tyler
Papple, friend of the groom,
was best man. Ushers were
Kevin MacDonald, brother of
the groom, Dwain Forrest,
cousin of the groom and Brad-
ley Van Bake!, cousin of the
groom. Readers were Greg
MacDonald and Lisa Shep-
herd, friends of the bride and
groom. Following a reception
in Seaforth, the couple honey-
mooned
oneymooned in the United States.
They now reside in Seaforth.

Gordon and Jean Rook are
pleased to announce the mar-

Charles to Krista Michelle
Hunter. Parents of the bride
are Bill and Janet Hunter of
TrOy, Ontario. The wedding
took place at the Elmhurst

June 29, 1996. Maid of hon-
our was Lynette Hunter, sister
of the bride. Best man was

groom. Attendants to the

cousin of the bride, Lisa

After honeymooning in Italy,
David and Krista are residing
in England while David pur-
sues his hockey career.

ZURICH - The Zurich Arena has
the ice surface in now and the fig-
ure skating club began their lessons
on Tuesday and Saturday.
Public skating will be held on
Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30
p.m. to 2:45 p.m. for SI per person
unk.ss a hockey tournament is
scheduled. Morns and tots skating
will be held on Monday and
Wednesday mornings.
Church anniversary
Our Lady of Mount Carmel
C.W.L. will be celebrating their
75th anniversary on October 9 with
mass at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner in
Dashwood at the Community Cen-
tre at 7 p.m.
Right -to -Life
The Stratford and District Right -
to -Lite group formed a human
chain in Stratford on Sunday after-
noon. Several from the Zurich arca
took part in the activity.
The annual dinner meeting for
the Right -to -Life will he held No-
vember 7 at 7 p.m. at the K. of C.
hall in Stratford. Larry Reynolds
will speak on euthanasia. Dinner
tickets cost $13 and are available
from Veronica at (519) 271-1929.
Thanksgiving meal

will he having a Thanksgiving
meal On October 13 at 12:30 p.m,
after the morning service in the fel-

Bake sale
The Mennonite Church group
(W.M.S.C.) will be having a bake
sate and tea in the fellowship hall
on October 26 front 10 a.m. to 2
p.m: Prucccds will go towards a
new chtuth sign.

Those attending the K. of C. con-
vention in London over the week-
end were Moran and Marie Geli-
nas Sr.. John and Mary Jacobs.

Draw winner
The lucky winner of the second
monthly draw by the Chamber of
Commerce was Joe Vermunt, RR 2
Zurich, who will get two tickets for
the Stratford Festival Theatre and
one night accommodation at the
Stratford Inn.
United Way collection
Volunteer canvassers will be col-
lecting for :he United Way. If you

The Fair Board will meet Octo-
ber 10 at 8 p.m. at the home of

Ed and Debbie Meidinger (nee
Jeffrey) were married on October 5
at. St. Peter's Church. St. Joseph.

groom is the son of Leo and Cecile

the daughter of Peter and Evelyn

Marcel and Simonne Vanneste,
RR 2 Kippen, celebrated their 40th
wedding anniversary on October 2.
As a gift from their children, the
couple enjoyed the weekend at
Oakwood Inn, Grand Bend.
On Sunday a family brunch and
get-together was held at Erb's
Country Kitchen attended by the
Eybergen and Sweeney families.
Going back to Georgia with the Ey-
hcrgen family for a week's vaca-
tion was Carrie's dad, Jerome
Sweeney.

next couple of months with her
daughter-in-law Helen Ducharme.
