Fed Cattle: 849 Cows: 273 Veal calves: 539 Lambs and Goats: 161 Stockers: 2259 Pigs: light run Fcd steers and heifers sold $2.00 lower. The top end cows sold $2.00 - $4.00 higher with the others selling steady to $1.00 higher. Veal sold $2-$3.00 lower with Iambs selling steady. On Friday the stocker calves sold $2.00 - $5.00 lower with the yearlings selling steady. There were 546 steers on offer selling from 87.00 to 93.00 to the high of 100.50. Six steers consigned by Dave Bender, Palmerston averaging 1170 lbs. sold for an average of 95.70 with sales to 100.50. Thirty-one steers consigned by Jim Howatt, Londesborough averaging 1.335 lbs. sold for an average of 92.27 with sales to 96.50. Six steers consigned by Dennis Robinson, Gadshill averaging 1228 lbs. sold for an average of 92.03 with sales to 94.25. The course is designed for the farming environ- ment and participants will graduate from the course with a general knowledge of basic first aid. Denfield Sales The market at Denfield traded on a good demand with prices ful- ly steady on all classes. Veal once again was very strong. Sows and boars were higher. Farm safety involves ;veryone. 4-H club discusses lambing times CLINTON - The Huron County 4-H Sheep Club held their sixth meeting at Florence Pullen's home on September 9. They started off with the roll call which was 'Name one trait (quality or characteristic) that can be improved upon in a flock. They discussed the advantages and disadvantages for lambing in the winter and summer. The group chose a new date for the potluck dinner, September 26. In the last seed season, Ciba Seeds was the first seed company to introduce Corn Borer resistant corn. This year we have 6 BT Corn Borer varieties to offer (2600 to 3200 HU).
