Edwards' elected
Bluewater president
By Ron Dann
ZURICH - Zurich Bowlers' As-
sociation life member 011ie Ed-
wards from Dashwood was elected
President of the Bluewater 5 Pin
Bowlers Association Sunday at
Molesworth. Other Zurich Associa-
tion life members appointed to
Bluewater Association executive
positions include secretary Sherrie
Edwards, Dashwood, publicity
chair Grand Bend's Ron Dann and
Bluewater average book compiler
and membership chair Hensall's
Gary Huston.
The Ontario Five Pin Bowlers'
Association has advised that due to
the reduction from 24 zones to 20
for the 1996-97 season the Bluewa-
ter assessment to the O.F.P.B.A.
Ontario Open is increased from
$1,900 to $2,140 but the entry fees
will remain at $30 plus G.S.T.This
means that Bluewater needs 72 en-
tries to recover the assessment cost.
Last year's Bluewater entries were
in the 40 area.
Dann returns as Zurich
President
Grand Bend's Ron Dann has
been returned as President at a re-
cent Zurich 5 Pin Bowlers' Associ-
ation meeting. Others appointed to
the Zurich executive include vice-
president and co -tournament chair
Bev Cregan, secretary, awards and
record scores chair Laurie Stanlake,
treasurer, membership, lottery and
Nevada chair Mike Cregan, publici-
ty chair Jean Dann and co -
tournament and fundraising chair
Tony Bedard..
Plans were completed to hold a
Hallowe'en Dressup 5 game 3-6-9
tournament Saturday, October 26
for Zurich Association members.
Details are available at Town and
Country lanes.
The Zurich Association has de-
cided to recommend its president
Ron Dann as a candidate for induc-
tion into the Ontario Five Pin
Bowlers' Association Hall of
Fame. This is the first time this
kind of decision has been made by
the Zurich Association.
The next Zurich Association
meeting will be held 7:30 p.m., Oc-
tober 5 at Town and Country
Lanes. Ali league secretaries and
presidents are invited to attend to
meet the executive and update
themselves about future Zurich As-
sociation and Ontario 5 Pin Associ-
ation tournaments.
