with Ernie Miatello
Research is constantly going on trying to
determine the active ingredients in foods
that might protect against disease. Recent-
ly, watercress hit the medical news as con-
taining a chemical that possibly inhibit can-
cers.
Toothbrushes, nail brushes and loofah sponges can be a breed-
ing ground for bacteria. Try putting these items through the dish-
washer where the high heat and detergent will kill the bacteria.
The idea of being an organ -donor is well accepted by 90% of Ca-
nadians but only 38% actually sign donor cards. The need for or-
gans is always increasing and each year in Canada many peo-
ple die while waiting for an organ. If you haven't signed an
organ -donor card yet, do it today.
Those "puffers" used to treat asthma can be divided into two
groups: the "relievers", which help breathing right away and the
"preventers", which prevent asthmatic attacks from occurring. If
you are using your relievers too often, your asthma may not be
well-controlled. Check with your doctor.
