This is what The Exeter and Dis-
trict Ringette Association wanted
from the 25 young girls who were
skating at the organization's pro-
mo days program at the Hensel)
arena on Tuesday and Thursday.
Exeter Ringette holds a free pro-
motions day program every year to

"We're looking for some good
things from Robb," said head coach
Qeorge Pratt adding they have lost
Trevor Emms who, with 22 goals
and 31 assists, was their top point
getter last season. Emms has
signed with Port Stanley this year.
.Filling his shoes though won't be
difficult. With a handful of re-
turning veterans and a, large num-
ber of talented rookies vying for a
spot on the team the Irish coaching
staff is confident they are capable
of filling the void.
That void may be filled by new-
comer Jeremy Hudson. A small but
talented hockey player, Hudson
played triple "A" with the North
London Bantam team last year but
is now playing centre for Lucan.
With final cuts looming, the Irish
will have some decisions to make
before the beginning of the regular
season. One of the more important
tasks they face will be in the goal -

opportunity to try the sport before
investing in equipment.
"It gives us a chance to promote
the sport by geuing new players out
to enjoy some free ice time and try
something they have never done
before," said Christine Morgan
who plays for the Exeter Ladies
team during the ringette season.
Kelly Regier who coaches the
bunnies age group said most of the
girls who are registered in ringette
have participated in the program at
one time or another and all have
benefitted by getting a better under-
standing of the sport.
"If they come out to see how it's
played they can decide if they like
it or not. Once they learn the skat-
ing skills it becomes easier and we
work on shooting and passing,"
said Regier. "But we try to make it
fun for them and hopefully they en-
joy it enough to come out and
play."
Those who do will be able to join
the other 130 girls who are reg-
istered in ringette so far this season.
Association president, Julie Ritchie
said the sport is growing in pop-
ularity and this season they will
have enough players to have a full
bunny team, two novice teams, two
petite teams, two tween teams, one
junior team and one belle team.
The ringette season begins on Oc-
tober 5.
