CENTRALIA - During her sum-
mer vacation, Gladys Buswell en-
joyed a trip to England and Wales.
She flew to Birmingham, England,
on August 5, returning August 20.
While in England, she visited her
sister, Lil Vincent, and her hus-
band, Ron at Willenhall near Birm-
ingham. On August 10, she attend-
ed the wedding of her great niece,
Susan Vincent, to Robert Kingly in
Birmingham.
Gladys and her sister had an op-
portunity to travel throughout Eng-
land and Wales and visit many in-
teresting places. One location of
special interest to Gladys was
Whightwick Manor House where
she worked for Sir Jeffery and
Lady Mader as nurse to their
daughter, Anthia. Whightwick
Manor House is now a historical
property managed by National
Trust, except for one wing. Anthia
was not in England at the time, but
has since written a letter to Gladys.
On August 31, many relatives
and friends from the Centralia area
travelled to Waterloo to join in the
celebration for Lorne and Marie
(Buswell) Cameron. Lorne and
Marie were married 50 years ago at
Centralia United Church. They
now reside in Kitchener.
Barbara (Fraiser) Snell from Cen-
tralia and Ralph Ronald Bennewies
from Seaforth were married at Cen-
tralia United Church on Saturday,
September 7 with a reception fol-
lowing at the Seaforth Legion.'
Zion West and Centralia United
churches resumed regular worship
on Sunday, September 8 at 9:45
and 11:30 a.m. respectively with
Pastor Heather Smith back to lead
the worship. The service provided
an opportunity to recognize and
celebrate the commitment to the
life and work of the church, espe-
cially to the Sunday School.
Ellen and Bob Graham have
joined Zion West where Ellen has
agreed to become organist for the
Sunday worship. They have also
recently returned from a week at
Canada's east coast. Hurricane Ed -

By Bill Witte:
The 1996-97 Student Council is in greater numbers this year than in
years past. Altogether, there are 28 members on the council. Before
this year, there have only been about 12 members.
There are more students on the council to lighten the workload on
students, to create more organization, and to get a broader perspective
on issues facing the school as there are members from every grade ex-
cept nine. a
New positions have been created to make things a little bit easier for
those positions who have traditionally been bogged down with work
in years past.
There are now two co -premiers (formerly known as presidents) and
two deputy premiers (formerly known as vice presidents).
These four individuals set up campaigns in April and were voted in
by the rest of the student body. Everyone else who is on student coun-
cil applied for their desired position and were picked by teachers.
Here is a list of the 1996-97 Student Council and their positions:

Schwindt, Lynette Heywood; Without portfolio - Jeff DeBiock; Secre-
tary - Jayne Westlake, Lisa Stewardson (assistant); Treasurer - Eric
