Blue water residents attend Dashwood Friedsburg ZURICH - On Wednesday after- noon, with the promise of rain and coolness in the air, instead of an outing the residents gathered in the auditorium to view a video "Tour- ing England". The lush green coun- tryside and thatched roof houses was a refreshing site. Rev. Gari Lazaro, Zurich/ Dashwood United Church conduct- ed Thursday afternoon Chapel Ser- vice. Fr. Matthias Wronski, St. Boniface Church, Zurich celebrated Mass. Saturday, the Village of Dash- wood celebrated their Friedsburg parade and residents of Blue Water Rest Home boarded the wheelchair bus to take part in the festivities. The staff of the home gathered on their wagon float they had prepared for the Hay Days parade to also help celebrate the event. Everyone hada good time on a warm sunny August day. Congratulations Dash- wood! The residents look forward to a trip to Stratford on August 5 and Max Ducharme and his Town Lin- ers on August 8. A trip is also planned to spend an afternoon at Walmart in Goderich on August 13. August 2, 1996 Queensway residents enjoy outdoors HENSALL - With the beautiful weather of late, Queensway resi- dents have been enjoying the out- doors. With the comfortable lawn chairs and shade tree it's easy to pies the time while watching the rest of the world hurry by. Shirley Luther visited Tuesday afternoon leading another meaning- ful church service. A time of vist- ing and fellowship followed the service. Several residents enjoyed a mens breakfast on Wednesday morning, when they gathered in the private dining room and dined family style around the round table that accom- modates eight people. Winnie Hut- ton, pastoral care volunteer was in to visit residents Wednesday after- noon. Several residents also bene- fitted from aromatherapy and mas- sage in the afternoon. This is one of the most relaxing experiences some one can undergo. Elizabeth Stanbu- ry of Goderich teaches a course on aromatherapy for interested indi- viduals. Western movies, have been the order of the day recently, since Marg Cole has been lending videos of old "Bonanza" episodes. Fun and fitness helped burn a few calories on Friday morning and was followed by an ice cream parlour in the afternoon. Bill Lind - field of Varna was our louhge en- tertainment Friday evening in the retirement home when he enter- tained with many old numbers on his banjo. Coming events August 7: Queensway entertains at Zurich Dining for Seniors. August 12: the playground chil- dren entertain. Three ATVs stolen STEPHEN TOWNSHIP - Three all -terrain vehicles were stolen from a construction site on Con- cession 19 on July 29. According to police, entry was gained by breaking a window to a garage. Stolen vehicles included a 1990 Honda 300 4X4, a 1990 Hon- da 300C 4X4 and a 1991 Yamaha 250C 4X4. No value estimate was given. She and 40 other area children were taking part in a Day Camp program at the Emmanuel Baptist Church organized by the Youth Group.
