Many farmers spent the Civic Holiday weekend in the fields combining wheat, or baling hay and straw. Oats and barley are starting to ripen, and there's sweet corn and tomatoes ready in the garden. The Centralia/Huron Park Lions Club will host an "Antique, Rod & Custom Car Show" at the Centralia ball diamond on Sunday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A pancake breakfast will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. The show will in- clude trophies, door prizes, dash plaques, and swap meet crafts. Rough camping will be available overnight on August 24. A 50/50 draw will be held with proceeds going to the Sunshine Foundation. Admission will be free for spectators. Anyone interested in entering their car should contact Ron Harvey at 228-6570 or Bill Chadwick at 228-6710 for more informa- tion. Children aged four to 10 years arc invited to the Centralia Library to par- ticipate in the "Go For the Gold!" event on Tuesday, August 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. with games, stories, crafts, and songs. There will be a registration fee of $ 1.00 per child. On July 17 in Crediton, there were nine tables of euchre players. Low Hand winners were Evelyn Pickering and Walter Weber.
