They were married on July 5, 1936 at the home of the bride's par- ents in St. Marys. Mrs. Hodgson is former Elsie Gourlay. The couple farted on Concession of Stephen township until 1941 i,? ben they moved to Exeter and for to last 27 years they have resided 4t Southcou Pines in Grand Bend. While in Exeter, Mr. Hodgson op- etated an insurance business for 25 'yeaand was secretary -treasurer of TheExeter Public School Board for years. Mrs. Hodgson was a pub - school teacher and taught at Wden and Science Hill. T They have three children. They Marie Hunt, Toronto; Barbara mur, San Diego, California and glas Hodgson of Hamilton. y have five grandchildren. The couple recalls that the tem- erature was 103 degrees during ir honeymoon in Toronto in 36. 1 Herman and Elsie Hodgson celebrated their 60th anniversary on Friday at the Craigholme Nursing Home in Allsa Craig. `Saintsbury group meets in Owen Sound St. Patrick's ACW members en- joyed their trip on Thursday. Davis Saintsbury correspondent SAINTSBURY - On Thursday, July 4, eight A.C.W. members from St. Patrick's travelled to Owen Sound to the new residence of Bill and Betty Johnson for lunch, a meeting and home tour. Following coffee and dessert, the meeting was opened with the Members' Prayer and General Thanks- giving in unison. Margaret Carroll led in prayer for Sunday Schools; Missionaries, remembering their Player Partner Simon Beaver Jr. led by Betty Johnson; Dominion of Canada led by Suzanne Davis; Sick mem- bers, remembering member Mabel Needham who will undergo surgery this week and Mabel's daughter Mari- lytt who is having surgery the same day, Absent mem- bers, remembering member Mary Davis who was un- able to make the trip due to distance, led by Viola Atkinson. A Bible reading from Genesis 24: 29-49 was read by Mabel Needham and Ephesians 3:16-19 were read by Heather MacGillivray. A meditation 'Parable of the Sower' was led by Ha- zel Davis, taken from the Huron Church News by Bish- op Jack Peck. The St. Francis Prayer for Peace was led by Rose Cunningham. Morning Prayer will be held at St. Patrick's July 28 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Stanley Jay will be at St. Patrick's for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist August 4 at 10:30 a.m. The A.C.W.'s first bale is packed ready to be sent to northern Ontario this week. Daily Bread items were de- livered last week. A tentative date has been set for the Fall Deanery meeting to be held at St. Paul's Stratford. A thank you note from the Daily Bread program was read. The treasurer's and secretary's reports were read and approved. The church picnic, pool party and A.C.W. meeting will be held the week of July 21-28 depending on the weather with Rose Cunningham in charge of the worship. Members are reminded to bring items for the bale and the less fortunate at Daily Bread. The MacGillivrays were weekend visitors with moth- er and grandmother Stevie MacGillivray of Lions Head. Hazel Davis visited on Friday at the Exeter Villa with Mary Brown, Pat Skinner, Blanche Walters, Georgina Dobbs and Gote Wennerstrom. Mary and Gate were celebrating birthdays. Starr and Travis Davis were guests Sunday with their aunt Linda Foran and Julie when they visited the Grand Bend Zoo. r `r THANK YOU From NAY DAYS Vi?
