SAINTSBURY - St. Patrick's
church members celebrated their
Holy Eucharist service at 10:30
a.m. with Rev. Stanley Jay officiant
June 30.
The processional hymn was
"Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory."
Rev. Jay spoke to the children for
the focus about the "Dominion of
Canada". In 1867 at a meeting in
Glhariottetown, Prince Edward Is-
land Darcy McGee suggested
Psalm 72:8 "His Dominion Shall
Stretch From Sea to Sea" be the ba-
sis of the name "Dominion of Can-

Following the focus the Sunday
School children sang the hymn "Je-
sus Loves Me" before going to

Following the Great Celebration
and prayers, the recessional hyrpn
was "Breathe On Me, Breath of
God." Rose Cunningham was serv-
er for the service.
Following the service, rector's
warden Heather MacGillivray pre-
sented Rev. Jay and wife Liz with a
gift from the congregation in
thanks for all their love and support
they have shown at SL Patrick's as
they begin their vacation.
There will be no services at St.
Patrick's until July 28 when Morn-
ing Prayer will be celebrated and
August 4 when Rev. Stanley Jay
will be at St. Patrick's to celebrate
the Holy Eucharist.
Courtney MacGillivray celebrat-
ed her sixteenth birthday recently
with a sleepover with several
friends.
Hugh and Hazel joined Michael
and Suzanne Davis for dinner.**

meet at the Davis's at 9 a.m. July 4
to travel to Betty Johnson's home
in Owen Sound for lunch and the
July A.C.W. meeting.

and fifth place in the 80 cc in Sum-
mer Moto Cross Series at Moto
Cross Park, Durham,Qn Sunday.
WM donates funds
EXETER - The Women's Minis-
tries met at the 3 AAA's Restaurant
June 27 for dinner. They held their
meeting afterward at the home of
Jean Triebner.
Ten members answered the roll
call by giving a scripture verse on
"Bride." They sang the hymn
"Come and Dine" and a chorus "As
the Deer Pants After the Water."
The group decided to send a do-
nation to needy children and to the
India Boys' Home. They also plan
to send money to the missionary's
children for birthdays and an anni-
versary. They will also give money
to print bibles in Greece.
Ruth McLaren gave a missionary
reading, and read a letter from
World Vision about drilling for wa-
ter in Africa.
Marion Triebner presented a
poem. Wanda McLaren gave a
message on choosing a bride and
making a bride based on Ezekiel
16.
There was a Season of Prayer by
the women and they sang the hymn
"Until Then".
Lunch was provided by hostess
Jean Triebner. Marion Triebner
helped serve.
Choirs
perform for
seniors
EXETER - Lots of singing
and informative speakers have
held the attention of the Exeter
Dining Out Program.
Ed Potter gave a talk and
showed pictures of some of his
travels to South America and Ja-
pan. The children from Exeter
Public School choirs presented
programs. Mrs. Walper came
with 30 junior choir members
the first week, followed by Judy
Mills conducting the primary
choir the next week. There were
83 children in the group. They
were all served a cold drink fol-
lowing their performance. On
June 25, Janet Kyle from Shore-
line Healthco displayed health
aids for seniors.
Keyboard players for the
month were Jean Hodgen, Wil-
ma Davis, Maxine Sereda and
Josie Ryckman.
Draw prizes were won by
Georgina Engler, Betty Hum-
phrey, Erlma Keller, Jean Rolo-
son, Ruth Skinner, Mildred
Thomson, Gerry Dobrindt, Es-
telle Chalmers, Mary Neil,
Stewart Miner, Marion Frayne,
Anna Eberhardt and Marjorie
Dykeman.
Joan McCann brought some
branches from her tulip tree as
prizes.
Ruth Brock and Ruth Arthur
gave some amusing readings.
Some old sayings on Mother's
and Father's Day were given by
Faye Skinner.
Birthday honors were given to

Isa Smith.
Shipka community planning yard sale

for July 13.

sell's three eldest children are
home for the summer, Connie, who

who has completed her first year at
Western University in London.
Ken and Caryl Baker of Gode-
rich, and Mike, Donna, Emily and
Ryan Yarrow of Guelph were
weekend visitors with Ken and
Marg Baker.
Melvin and Gertie Stade trav-
elled to Melville, Saskatchewan by
bus to attend the funeral of Gertie's
sister Hilda Miller on Monday,
June 10.
They arrived home Saturday
morning. They had seen all her sis-
ters and brothers except one and
many nieces and nephews.
A number of area folks here at-
tended the ham and strawberry sup-
per haat Tuesday night at Dash-
- Community Centre,
sponsored by the United Church
Women.
Hugh and Annie Morenz attend-
ed the musical "Annie" Thursday
afternoon at Huron Country Play-
house. Fourteen years ago, Annie
and son Bill travelled to B.C. to
visit seven-year,old granddaughter
Persephone and the three attended
the movie version of Annie in a
theatre in Vancouver. Just like in
the play, Persephone fell asleep
and was carried out by daddy Bill.
