Ellis - Smith
Ken Ellis of Granton and Lila
Smith, Exeter were united in
marriage on May 21, 1994 at
the Exeter Bible Fellowship
Church. Jim Russell, son-in-
law acted as father of the
bride. Verla Russell, daughter
of the bride was matron of
honour. Val Middleton, friend
of the groom was best man.
Rev. Peg Wheeler from Wal-
lacetown, friend of the bride
and groom performed the cer-
emony. After the wedding a
reception was held at the Ex-
eter Legion Hal,'.

residents
enjoy annual
summer dinner
ZURICH - Tuesday evening
members of Thames Road United
Church, under the leadership of
Helen Hodgert visited Blue Water
Rest Home for the June birthday
party. Those celebrating birthdays
this month are Ruby Hoggarth,
Bernice Kennedy, Madeline Har-
burn and Elizabeth Johnson.
Jessica, Vanessa and Christa
Bray played piano duets and top
danced for the residents. Doris
Simpson read a poem "My Moth-
er's Apron" and Rhoda and Bill
Rhode played on the violin and pi-
ano and let the residents join in for
a sing -a -long. The UCW brought
oatmeal cookies with date filling,
which auxiliary members Jean
Gingerich and Della Gascho
helped serve.
Tuesday morning Kate Fletcher
and Pauline VanDerLey visited the
home with their bull terrier and
collie.
Pastor Julianna Bender, Zurich
Mennonite church conducted
Thursday afternoon chapel service.
Fr. Matthias Wronski; St. Boniface
Church, Zurich celebrated mass.
Friday morning it was summer
games and fun for a picnic with
the St. Boniface Buddies. Each
Buddy brought his ball or game
and played catch, etc. with the res-
idents and the resident presented
each school buddy with a potted
plant. The home supplied hot dogs,
potato chips, lemonade and ice-
cream cones for a picnic lunch. A
thank you to Mrs. Marraget Suplat,
grade 5 teacher at St. Boniface
School and Cathy Shantz, Adju-
vant for coordinating the program
with the residents the past year.
Our best wishes to the Grade 5 stu-
dents at St. Boniface School in
their future endeavours and a
thank you from residents and staff
of Blue Water Rest Home for their
kind visits and companionship
over the past 10 months. Well
done!
Summer dinner
Sunday afternoon 253 visitors
came to the home for the annuals
summer dinner. Melissa Welsch
opened the entertainment at 3 '
o'clock. Everyone enjoyed their
meal and gathered round to visit
with family and friends.
The residents look forward to a

Church on June 28, the town pic-
nic on June 29 and Oriole Wes -
lake's 90th open house birthday
party on July 10.

Mickey Mouse visits
Mickey Mouse paid a visit to Centralia last Wednesday night as he helped children at the
Centralia Faith Tabernacle Church celebrate a fun night filled with games and a buffet
supper. Here, young Suzanne Henderson needed some help from grandmother Linda Hen-
derson to say hello to Mickey.
