FLAMBORO - Harem Success captured her first 1994 Ontario
Sires Stakes win with a gate to wire victory in a 517,565 Gold Series
elimination on Sunday at Flamboro Downs. That qualified her to
compete in the $100,000 Gold Series final this Sunday against eight
of the best three-year-old pacing fillies in Ontario.
This was the first win in seven starts this year for Harem Success
who increased her bankroll to 5107,118 for owners Dan and David
Morrissey of Ailsa Craig and Richard Morrissey of Exeter.

Freeman heads to Nationals
Irish name Bogart, Dalrymple coaches, Ryan manager
By Fred Groves
T -A staff
LUCAN - After managing the
Lucan Irish of the Junior Develop-
ment League (Junior 'D') for the
past 12 years, Ken Freeman is mov-
ing down the highway to the big
city.
It was recently announced Free-
man was hired to be the general
manager of the London Nationals
of the Western Junior 'B' Hockey
League.
"They were trying to get me for a
couple of years but I was always
putting it off," said Freeman.
The move means the Irish have
done a complete about-face in its
coaching ranks as coach Ken Need-
ham who had been with the club
for five seasons recently resigned.
Irish president Gary Wilcox an-
nounced that Pat Ryan is the new
manager and Exeter's Scott Bogart
and Jeff Dalrymple have been
named co -coaches.
As fax as Freeman is concerned
it's business as usual with the Na-
tionals which have been affiliated
with the Irish for the past three sea-
sons_
Junior 'B' hockey is quite inter-
esting in that it develops players for
the Major 'A' ranks, trying to help
them secure scholarships and at the
same time trying to create a win-
ning team.
"It's no different than any other
league. You want to win but you
want to develop the players," said
Freeman.
While he leaves a team which he
helped build to one of the best in
Junior 'D' hockey, Freeman is not
burning any bridges behind him.
"It's not to say I'll never be back."
Wins scholarship: Monday night
the Irish held an executive meeting
and were told that veteran forward
Scott Riddell was selected from
other Junior 'D' players to receive
a 5500 Ontario Hockey Association
scholarship.
Also, new executive members in-
clude long-time scorekeeper
Wendy Hardy and announcer Ann
Hardy.
The Irish were pleased to make
the anouncement about Bogan and
Darlymple who bring several years
of coaching experience with them.
Prior to joining the Irish the duo
had been coaching the Exeter RSD
midget Generals of the Shamrock
Hockey League and won an On-
tario Minor Hockey Association ti-
tle two years ago.
Bogart usually works primarily
with the offensive pan of the game
while Dalrymple is more defensive
orientated. Both are former Exeter
Junior 'D' Hawks players.
