Each member brought her favourite salad, ham, etc. and the residents.enjoyed the homemade pies of rhubarb, apple, and lemon - just to name a few. The residents presented a pro- gram for their guests. Rose Merner and Nelson Howe warmed their pi- ano and violin with duets of Cali- fornia Waltz; Tennessee Waltz; Bonnie Dundee; and Flowers of Edinborough. Ruby Hoggarth, Vera Thiel and Esther Makins read poems "Little Brown Brother", "The Touch of the Masters Hand", "Why Worry", and -Somebody's Mother." Merner also played a piano solo "How Great Thou Art." The Home's choir consisted of Dorothy Bapty, Merner, Hilda Rader, Annie Martin, Eleanor Brown and Ruby Bell who sang "Smile", "Let Me Call You Sweet- heart", and " In the Garden." Or- ville Witmer played his harmonica and Beatrice Rader read "A Child's View of Retirement in a Mobile Home Park." After the picnic dinner, Beatrice Rader thanked the Auxiliary for the wonderful dinner and their services to the Home the past year. She also shared one of her many jokes with the audience. Rev.
