HURON PARK - The member
municipalities that make up the
Bluewater Recycling Association
will showcase to the public their
new processing facility in the Hu-
ron Industrial Park in Huron Park
on Saturday, June 4 between 1 and
3 p.m.
Bluewater Recycling moved its
operation from the Association's
original and much smaller facility
near Grand Bend during the month
of April to better handle the vol-
umes and variety of materials now
collected in the Bluewater Recy-
cling program. The Association,
now with more than 45 municipali-
ties participating, opened the
Grand Bend facility in mid 1989 to
serve the 17 municipalities that at
that time made up the Association.
The Association quickly outgrew
the Grand Bend facility through
the constant addition of new mu-
nicipalities and by collecting one
of the largest variety of recyclable
materials of any program in the
province.
The facility open house will give
the general public the opportunity
to tour the new facility, meet the
Association employees and learn
more about the benefits of back-
yard composting. Several dignitar-
ies representing the Ministry of the
Environment and Energy, the
counties of Huron, Lambto, Mid-
dlesex, and Perth and member mu-
nicipalities will be in attendance.
